You assume Kyle can see the WR do that from where he was on the sideline. He more than likely couldn't considering where he was on the sideline and where the catch was made. So, again, he has to rely on other people. Can't rely on the defensive players because they ALWAYS say the WR didn't make the catch. Then Kyle sees one replay from an angle that seems like he made the catch. Then his time was up. It sucks, but this is the very reason the league is trying to implement self-reviews in these circumstances, because it's incredibly difficult on the HC to make a viable determination in such a limited time without a lot of information. The league failed at that here, too.
Hufunga had a clear view of the ball hitting the ground and didn't say s**t to the coaches or bring anything up is a big red flag to me.
