Well if Dion Sanders wants to sign for 1/20th his value again just to win a Super Bowl...... lets go!
Of course there is no Dion Sanders level impact CBs in the NFL today.....
So the closest we could get would be like Parsons signing for 1 million to make a Super Bowl run.

Harbaugh got axed because he was a raging psycho that kept picking fights with people. Regardless of what you think of Jed, you can't continually disrespect the owner of a team and hope to keep your job. I'm guessing that is a big part of the reason why the Vikings and now Broncos passed on him as well.
A huge part of the job is being able to work well with others and the best organizations have that kind of symmetry at the top, with everyone knowing their exact jobs and collaborating to create a successful product. You can't have people at each other's throats or having regular screaming matches in team offices. The big mistake by Jed was not firing Baalke at the same time he let Harbaugh go and having a complete organizational reset.
Right now the 49ers are in a good place with their leadership, on the coaching staff and in the front office, the team has been winning, the roster is strong, there's absolutely no reason to switch anything up in terms of the leadership.

We'll never know if the Niners could've beaten the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. It's tough to say.....
But next year I think if we can regain that Purdy magic, mixed in with some Lance, we might have what it takes.
The Eagles losing the Super Bowl will make it much harder for them to make it back.........rarely ever happens for an SB loser........only the recent Patriots and the '72 Dolphins pulled it off (outside of the 90s Bills, who never won one).
Dallas could be a tough out again, but I'm not too concerned.
We just have to figure out the secondary IMO. Even the OL, I think can be dealt with.
This team is f**king close, it's insane.

Purdy definitely had a magical season. The ending was horrible and bad luck for sure. I personally think the 49ers would have beaten the Eagles, because of the defense and Purdy being able to put points on the board and the 49er ground game - but we'll never know.
49ers are well set for 2023 season. They, I think, are the most complete team going into the offseason with many of the parts needed to get to the playoff already on the team. Biggest part is the QB. If Purdy can equal or improve on his performance in 2023, 49ers have a great chance in making the playoffs and going deep.
Purdy will have to heal up, but I think towards the latter half of the season, Purdy should be back to 💯%. Trey just has to hold the fort untill Purdy is able to go 💯%. I don't think seeding is as important as health and depth going into the playoffs. Having the number one seed but not having Trent (for example) would be worse than having the 2nd or 3rd seed and everyone is pretty healthy.

This is a bust on Slay, he's supposed to bump over to Kelce and Maddox is supposed to rotate back to the MOF with the safety. As Ron says, Maddox has to make sure Toney has committed across the field https://t.co/aXGbZAq7K4

It's like people fail to see the rest of the NFL trying to grab whatever piece of this organization they can. I don't think theres a regime that's had more guys poached at the executive and coaching spots more than the 49ers.
clearly they're doing something right…always gonna be whiners no matter what I guess.

I give credit to the play design for forcing the blown coverage. A similar thing happened when the 49ers gave up the long TD to MIA on the first play of that game (Sherfield catch and run). MIA motioned Tyreek in a similar manner and it caused confusion in the secondary. When a defense relies on presnap communication to stay organized after strong side/weak side changes, then do things like what KC/MIA did (weird presnap motions) to force proper communication. Any lapses will result in blown coverages.

How about that other TD?
Wrong formation, no problem.

The Chiefs final TD wasn't how they drew it up 🤯#NFLTurningPoint pic.twitter.com/eUGXSeXpbq

What about it? Is the point you're making that Reid/Mahomes got lucky? I was just addressing the 'blown coverage' play (the first tweet in your post above).

We were not as close as people think this year. We beat a crap Seahawks team then squeeked out a lucky win against Dallas. We would have been lucky to get a win against Philly and it's highly unlikely we would have gotten lucky again against the chiefs.
It looks close but the problem is the Dallas game was a mismanaged and coached game we got lucky to win.
Then the Philly game was again miscoached during both the lack of challenge and not running it during FG range with Josh Johnson. That's 10 points in coaching alone.
If you call games like that against 4 good teams you will lose one of those pretty much guaranteed.
That's the whole point. You either need overwhelming talent and splash signings which we do not do. Or excellent mistake free coaching and timeout calling.
Our biggest splashes have been huge misses for the most part, Kwon Alexander, broken back boy, verrett, etc.. and there all half assed 1 or 2 player signings instead of pushing In all out chips.
This team literally could have had hasaan Reddick last year. He's on 15 mill a year which we could have paid.
Anyway the point is something will have to change in order to win 4 games in a row. Either purdy will need to be Montana 2.0 or you find somebody who can not make critical coaching mistakes. It does not matter how good a play caller they are.
