Well, it's pretty obvious what we need to work on:

#49ers had 7 dropped passes yesterday, giving them a total of 20 on the year. That is most in the NFL.

We're #1 in penalties, drops and missed tackles.

Yes, but watch that percentage drop when the receivers KNOW the ball will be there. Now it is all on them. And yes, TT did have a pair of drops, along with virtually everyone else, but once they know the ball will be there, they will be paying more attention...heck even "no see 'um Aldrick" . Watch the drops start to go down. With hoyer, you pretty well knew there was a 50/50 chance at best of the ball being there, and the guys just were not paying attention...or dialed in, if you will. They are not going to want to let their potential FR QB down. With hoyer, he was just marking time and the WRs and TEs played accordingly. Now it counts...in their minds...so they will start to drop less and less. Let's see if it works out that way.

Yesterday's drops were disgusting. NOT NFL material. Any of them.

Interesting even the D played better once CJ was brot in. Has to be something mental in knowing your REAL QB is back there. Worked on the D, it will work for WRs, TEs and RBs.

I wonder right about now if kyle is wondering what would have happened if he had started CJ about , oh, 3 games back...check that, brot him just before the half. Here it was a no brainer with ZERO pts, but more awkwardly, 50 ...FIFTY...miserable yards O. That would make any new HC bring in his potential FR QB. CJ did get to carry the clipboard 6 weeks and did learn something. Hope he didn't learn it from hoyer tho.
Such a weird time to watch this team's offense right now. You can see the offense as a whole is working. It's capable of moving the ball. Yet the guys are so 'young' to it that they are so inconsistent. Not capable of putting 1 or 2 complete scoring drives together. Mistakes and penalties just kill them.

At the same time you know it will take more time playing together to get there. The difference is night and day compare to the last 2 years. They have been able to crawl back from behind to make for some very close games late. Where as in previous years,if they were 17pt down like yesterday, it's pretty much over.

I don't think Kyle could've in anyway start CJ at the start of the season. I was thinking at least 6-8 games for CJ to watch and learn, and it seems about that much for CJ to have the right prep mentaly to take off the training wheels

Well, i am fine with the way it went down...i was afraid it would be game 10 or something like that....looking at kyle yesterday, though....he looked like an old man out there...he looked awful...kinda like a brand new HC who had just lost his first 6. Hoyer's continued lack of production and inspired play made the decision a lot easier , however.
So Shanny basically admit his first crucial mistake of the off season by benching his hand picked QB.

Mistakes thus far

Not drafting Watson
Choosing Hoyer over McCown

Not a good sign when the offensive genius is failing to see good QB talent.

He replaced his hand picked QB with another QB he hand picked....mistake washed.

Watson, no thanks, not in this system.

Was Shanahan familiar with Hoyer or McCown, who has experience with his playbook hmmmm.....

His offensive rankings have improved in every category, solid job by the offensive guru rookie head coach.
