Haha. True. Now he's lost both T's so I'll say it again like I did before he lost his first Superbowl...Mahomes isn't winning the Superbowl this year. He goes as that OL goes. No doubt. That's not saying he doesn't help a lot too. But he clearly needs a top tier unit like any other QB to win it.

Mahomes "helps." Okay. Gotta love the explosives left everywhere for entertainment purposes only.

Not running the ball enough against NE to try and eat clock and shorten the game or whatever. Oh and by the way still trying to blame that loss on him is BS to the umpteenth degree, Dan Quinn deserves most of it since he was head coach. So sick of this revisionist history garbage.

Dan Quinn (28-3) and Robert Saleh (21 points in 5 minutes with only 7 minutes left) both had epic collapses. Of course Philly's vaunted D gave up a 10 point lead too to Mahomes and Reid.

One thing I'm realizing with the Chiefs is that if you don't have an offense - you will lose a track meet game with this team. Even if you have a great defense.

No question about it. Unless he doesn't have a top OL of course. Then you can turn him into a backyard hero ball QB FTL.

Even then he was making miraculous throws. It was his teammates who dropped a handful of them. But overall, you're right. The best way to beat any qb is to obliterate their o line.

It's why I'm so damn excited for the gravedigger signing!

Yes sir. It's his only kryptonite. He's truly a generational QB though. The thing I like most is that he's a pretty pure pocket passer. And because of that, it just makes all the off schedule stuff so dangerous and effective.

I hope he is a generational player! He already is for his draft slot at least. Hahah

Personally, I love that he is a pocket passer. I'm so tired of everyone thinking these running around QBs are the answer. Until one is consistent and accurate from the pocket without having to run, I don't want to see it. It's a waste of time and it just shortens their careers.

i want a guy who is here for 12-15 years and we compete with them every single year for the chip. Elevates everyone.

Steve Young 2.0 would be nice! Or Joe Montana with top tier pass protection.

Cant be elite if you're always injured, though. Circular in that respect.

At this point, I'll take dilfer if It turns into #6.

selfishly, I want us to have the next Brady or montana. I'd love to experience what it's like to have a decade+ Of truly competing for chips and winning a handful. I'm so envious of the folks that got that.

Yup, Kyle has about a year or so before Fat Andy reconstructs that Chief's OLine for another super bowl run. My hope is that Purdy or Lance can get it done before Mahome's OLine is back in full force.

As long as the o line isn't terrible they'll have SB runs aplenty because of the guy behind center.

Nah. Playoff runs, sure, even deep runs. He's already proven that's not the case. Hence why Andy immediately went and tried to correct it (and did). Now he's lost both T's. So he's back to square one. This year will be further proof of that.

He's already proven he can a SB(s) with the OL getting the s**t kicked out of him

Not sure if the investment in defense bridges the gap...thus far no.

Curious if you all think KS is trying to win with a duct tape and mirrors at QB and if its ever going to work?

(I believe in the development of Trey and Brock - but will they be ready to be a top QB when the time comes?)

Only if the elite qb didn't get injured.

Ain't that the truth.

I still understand why Brock was in that position in the Philly game… the play was destined to be blown up at the line.

It's not been through lack of trying though, we've just had a few misses and some bad injury luck.

Elite QB's are tough to come by, IMO there isn't a single one in the NFC.

We've got an elite D, and elite weapons. Hopefully that's enough, but you know in the Superbowl you'll be facing an Elite QB, it's tough to overcome them.

A. Rogers?

I mean yard to bigmacs point, I think there's been a few top-tier quarterbacks that we potentially could've got on roster, unfortunately, it would mean taking money from the Defense to get it done.
"As a rookie, Darnold played for Mike Shanahan protégé Jeremy Bates and had his best year in a scheme built to make the QB play fast."

interesting - I didn't know that about darnold

Brady is the big one, but he was coming off a bad year with the Pats, many thought he was done and Jimmy had just taken us within 8 mins of #6.

Mahomes was just a miss by Kyle, who listened to the draft buzz over Lynch. I honestly can't see another top tier QB we could have got.

Oh and glory, I consider Rodgers a Jet, and honestly am not sure he's elite anymore, elite Rodgers wins that division last year.

It has nothing to do with scripted or unscripted plays. It's actually worse that Shanahan scripted nasty tevin Coleman as the starting back in the frigging superbowl.

Why would Shanahan not ride the hot hand with mostert? He ran all over the packers and he was damn successful against the chiefs.

It's a damn shame.

We need to stop with the shanahan excuses. He chokes in big moments. There is no way to justify his gameplan in the superbowl.

When the lights are bright KS folds like a lawn chair..some genius

No the loss Goes to both...the bum was up 28-3 and his ego got in the way of calling run plays to milk the clock. Quinn deserves blame since he's the head coach, he should have said " hey wtf are you doing,, run the damn ball"
