Yup. Absolutely do not want to watch the Jed and Paraag GM/coach hiring clown show. We struck gold here, and this is the golden age of the York era.

Kyle is so close to greatness and becoming a coaching legend, so if we Andy Reid him and some other team gets al the glory, I'm going to be pissed and scream for new ownership. This would be an unforgivable offense. This man has been one of the final 4 teams every single year that he's had a somewhat healthy roster. Give Shanny one single season where he has KC or Philly's injury luck (and it is mostly luck) and I guarantee he'll close the deal.

I hate how under appreciated he is by some of our fans. The guy is an offensive savant that everyone is trying to copy, but every year he stays ahead of the pack and continues to adjust to how defenses gameplan to stop him.

I hate saying this out loud, but I truly think this franchise is setup to be a new dynasty. It's going to be Chiefs vs 49ers for a few years if both teams stay healthy. The coaching and front office of both teams is by far the best in the NFL. The best part for us is that KC and Mahomes is in a bloodbath of a conference, and we don't have much competition outside of Philly, who I think will regress this season. If we can comfortably take the #1 seed, we can get even more rest before the playoffs begin, while KC has to battle for playoff positioning. If anyone happens to upset KC, then the superbowl will heavily be in our favor. All it takes is Kyle getting his first championship to erase all his playoff demons and go on a historic run.

Just have faith that he's close. When you're really good at your job, sooner or later you'll catch your big break. It just takes time. There are no easy paths towards coaching greatness. Most of them struggled before they finally broke through. Both the team and fans just need to show patience.

Or the five Lombardi trophies he walks past each day.

Which probably motivates him more than any of us will ever know.

Haha. And he's been walking by those since he was a toddler too. That's rough.

You mean a coach like the coach who has been developing Brock Purdy ?

We really don't know if he's developed him at all at this point. Jimmy also flashed greatness at the start but that I would pretty much credit his college coach and belicheck for right?

Same with purdy. It's not like he got some special program as the third string guy. His success from a coaching standpoint is almost assuredly mostly from his college and high school coaches at this point.

If he looks substantially improved this season then we can start dishing credit to the 49ers staff.

Under shanahan I have yet to see year over year improvement from any QBs yet.

No matter what string you are, you still sit in the same meeting rooms, same film rooms, share the same practice fields and get firsthand coaching and feedback from the coaches. You may have fewer reps and fewer opportunities but the ability to learn, grow and get coached up is still there.

It's also been shown multiple times by a few different posters on here that QBs coached by Kyle tend to have their most productive years under him.

Thats great but Kyle hasn't won anything!

So, a few QB's had their personal best stats under Kyle. What does that say about his ability to develop a QB? Most of the QB's you are talking about were probably developed by someone else.

Kirk Cousins?

Matt Ryan saw a 20 yard increase with KS as his O/C.

That playcalling was hot garbage by him!

Vs the Raiders? A preseason game? Lol not to mention all the guys open Trey didn't throw too.
Despite his flaws, I want to keep Kyle for the absolute long term. The main thing that needs to change is him having less FO/Draft power because the decision-making there especially in the higher picks has been really spotty. Just let Adam Peters work his magic like he does in the mid to later rounds. Seahawks finally seem to be drafting better because Carrol finally took a step back and let Schneider do his thing.

One of Kyle's biggest weaknesses I think is his draft evaluation skills. He has fallen in love with a number of players that were drafted at his behest but turned out terrible and got released. Still an awesome coach that we should keep for the long haul.

Yeah I don't know why Kyle kept calling plays for Trey to get sacked. Dumb.

Agreed 💯.

He should focus solely on coaching and keeping his Qbs upright.

Until he starts prioritizing pass protection in this scheme, I am not really seeing it. Hes coached here 6 years. 5 of them, the QB got injured. Its not just bad luck. He just doesn't prioritize it in this scheme. I'm sure there will be excuses if things go poorly again (injury "luck", etc). Honestly, if Jimmy G has a healthy season with the Raiders, its an indictment on him
