Losses are losses. Last year we just didn't make it up during garbage time and our defense was the worst in the league, go figure.
And we could easily go 0-10 and if the Mitch gets his s**t together by then we may go 0-13.

Remember, it's all garbage time unless you win. If you lose, the entire game was garbage time!
I'm done lol.

So staging several comebacks and having your team in position to win 5 out of 6 games is "garbage time."
"Garbage time" surely has taken on a new meaning this season.

Where did I say this year involved garbage time? I said last year we never closed the gap during garbage time. Had we done that we would have had the exact same result as this years team...........close losses. Which just proves that losses are losses are losses.
But I'm not shocked though you folks actually thought Hoyer was a competent QB and Shanny is a better coach than McDaniels.

McDaniels is such a good HC he's the OC of the Patriots again for the fifth year in a row.

Anybody that saw kizer play most of the yr, who didn't think that was bust city...probably didn't see him make all the same mistakes he's making again.

When it comes to Shanahan, you're damn right he knows better than you or me or any of us. Don't mention those jokers in the same breath as KS. Which isn't to say he is above criticism, just saying that KS knows what he is doing, those clowns had no business being head coaches. As HC Shanahan is the heir to Walsh, and the best offensive mind we've seen in these parts since his father and Holmgren were OC's for us.
look my only concern with Kyle was that I didn't want him to be Josh McDanials. 1.0....would rather him be one who has learned from mistakes of other Young First time Head Coaches. And with most of the decisions he made so far, he was heading toward that Young Head Coach who was too smart for his own good route.
and I DID NOT want that, because I still believed in him as an offensive mind.....that could hopefully stay out of his own way to be a good Head Coach.
"HC Shanahan is the heir to Walsh"
holy s**t, man lets just let him prove himself first please.. yall build these players/coaches up only to tare them down if it doesn't work out.
as far as Erickson, Nolan, Sing (with no Martz) you can call them clowns now, and say they had no business being a head coach.... but easy to say that 10+ years later. When they were actually here, majority was blindly defending them... SO MUCH SO, one of our regular posters snapped and gave up his regular account and started his NolanHasAPlan account.
Who is to say the same won't be said of Shanny years from now? We don't know. I hope not. But my response was because I've heard that "coaches no best" s**t for too many years....I wasted too much time back then debating basic s**t, because God Forbid you question a Head Coach.

Garbage time is when a team pads meaningless points in a game out of reach or a player pads his stats in a game out of reach. The 49ers have been in every single game except one all the way up to the wire.
If you want to keep things black and white and a one point loss is the same as a 50 point loss, that's up to you but there are some fans that like to examine the context within those losses. Look at any organized professional team sport. When a young team continues to lose games closely it usually sets them up for a breakout later on. Young players develop and learn to have better situational awareness and mistakes that cost them games before become less and less, so the team starts winning. It at least is indicative of some talent being present and that talent is developing. When a team is continuously blown out the only thing that is indicative of is the talent is far and in-between and your team just stinks. Nobody is developing.
It's funny so many people keep bringing Hoyer up like people had this guy pegged for a pro bowler. Knowledgeable football posters called him a "bridge quarterback" or a "placeholder." There is nothing shocking about a guy on his 7th team in 8 years getting benched. The guy was brought here to help install an offense nothing more and nothing less.
As far as McDaniels. Great coordinator that couldn't make it two full years as a head coach. I'd see where Shanahan is next year before waiving my McDaniels banner. Kyle is building up a team that had a big talent deficiency. It's mind boggling that people don't realize this. The fact that this team has been so competitive is crazy. The coaching staff has these guys playing hard and believing they can compete every week. That's already a major check mark in his transition to becoming a head coach.
