Critique of the Trey pick, including the trade up, and the lack of development is legitimate. But anyone who thinks Shana/Lynch should be fired because they ship Trey out of her as opposed to making him the backup (I personally think Trey requested a trade) is a poor argument because neither Trey nor Darnold likely have what it takes to lead this team to a superbowl. Both are busts up to this point (this does not mean Trey cannot become great but he has shown zero indication this will happen). The trade, as historically terrible as it has turned out, has not hindered Shana/Lynch's ability to build a perennial contender. The 49ers are one of the most valuable sports franchises in the world in part built upon the franchise's recent year in and out success. The duo has built a juggernaut through great drafting and acquisitions notwithstanding this all time terrible trade. It shows how great both are. I for one have zero interest to returning to the days of Dennis Erickson, Mike Nolan, Mike Singletary, Jim Tomsula, and Chip Kelly. Shanahan would get swooped up faster than the time it would take for the ink to dry on his termination letter. Almost every single team, including teams with established "great" coaches would try and hire this man. Most of this discussion is centered around the f-ing backup QB. Yes, our recent QB injury bug is historically bad, and it's hard not to worry about the backup playing. But if Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, or any other franchise QB get hurt their seasons are likely done, the Eagles recent SB being the outlier. Brock needs to continue to show he is able to perform just as Trey needed to, but unlike Trey, Brock has balled out when the opportunity presented. People need to stop putting arbitrary and baseless limitations on Brock because he is a baby faced 7th round pick who does not look crazy athletic even though his game athleticism has proven better than Trey's. If Trey had Brock's rookie season the Webzone would be full of people screaming from the rafters that we found our franchise qb. Instead of fighting over Trey/Darnold, we should be uniting around Brock and this loaded team. Go niners.

No....welcome to hot take couch GMs that have never been effective leaders of teams/people (at work) in their life.
people lash out at sports/coaches/athletes as a reaction to their own insecurities and lack of success in their personal life.

Nobody said he can't be fired, just shouldn't be fired because Lance didn't pan out. They've shown based on our play and roster that this isn't their time yet.
