anybody else would've gotten laughed out of the NFL.

So giving him the starting job last year with zero competition is not developing him?

I still feel like the biggest story here is how bad the FO handled everything, beginning with the trade, yet the team is still better today than it was then. Schefter touched lightly on the issue, but it's a HUGE testament to how well this team was built.

You all keep harping in this but if we crush it with purdy this year then literally no serious person will care about this

Let's be real: Purdy might still be a Mullens.

Hes not, no matter how much you wish it to be true

Maybe they'd won a trophy or 2 if they hadn't wasted those 3 picks.

That is like saying someone who won the lottery is smart for buying the ticket. It was sheer luck.

I'm still on board!!! As long as Kyle gets us to the playoffs i'm good.

very low expectations
Getting to and winning the Super Bowl requires luck to some degree. Sometimes the mostly healthy team wins. Sometimes, well most of the time according to some, teams just don't get calls from the refs.

Game on the line and your kicker shanks the game winning field goal. You firing your coach afterwards?

If your star QB jets injured during the game, you firing your coach afterwards?

Just need a staff that can consistently get you to the playoffs. IMO

I dunno.......he might regress.

But Mullens' best tape never looked as smooth as Purdy's.

Eye test I never thought he was as good as Jimmy. Didn't care what kinda stats he put up, whereas with Purdy after a game or two it was pretty clear he was better.

Not the best analogy there, Y2R. They scouted Brock and selected him. Yes they got lucky that Brock ended up playing so well, but the front office did scout and select him when no other team thought to select him.

The point is that Purdy hasn't proven to be a long-term answer yet and your argument doesn't hold against the pure facts of 3 wasted 1st round picks which very well could've meant winning a trophy if invested somewhere else (somewhere like pass protection...).

Most teams could not absorb a busted pick like that, considering what was given up. It would appear the 49ers are defying logic, to a degree. At least for now.

This, watch what happens to Denver if the midget fails again.
