Nice to see John York in the background of that Twitter video. The man and his wife took a lot of crap after they took over from Eddie D., who could do absolutely no wrong in the eyes of Bay Area media. Winning five Super Bowl trophies does cut you some slack.

Some of the criticisms against York may have been deserved. But many were not. As badly as he has been treated, he has continued to stay behind this team, stay in the background and let his son be the face of the franchise. I hope he gets to hoist a trophy some day.

Does anyone remember the website dumpyork.com? That's how bad it got at one point.

I, for one, am glad he's nowhere near the front office and is allowing Jed to run the franchise. Best thing that Jed did was bring Eddie back into the fold and have him be a big part of 49ers history and also as a good counsel for Jed in building a Superbowl level franchise.

Could have drafted Burns and Crosby while bringing back Buckner. Bosa is great but they've won exactly zero SBs with him. The biggest ?? each time has been QB. I think Cousins represents a significant upgrade over Garoppolo and they never make that absurd trade for Lance either.

If not for Purdy right now, I think we'd be talking about trading for or signing Cousins next offseason.

Lil too much coulda woulda shoulda. The composition of the team would look so different, it's hard to say what would have happened. I like Kirk more than JG, thanks to his durability, so I can agree with you there.
