Shanahan is taking over a team similar to Nolan's first year talentwise.

Not really though. JH succeeded with the defensive team we had. Same team only better. McVay has turned the 32nd ranked o to a top one. People are really sleeping on what a job he's doing there.

Lol no. This ain't the same dude. This is NOT the same roster Jim Harbaugh lucked in to in 2011.

The Rams in the other hand, are a better comparison roster wise. They are better than us by a hundred miles. And he has a better defensive coordinator, so he can sit while the defense is in the field and play angry birds in his tablet

Lucked into lol...same team coaches before him inherited and couldn't do anything with.

Nobody said it was. But the Rams roster is better because McVay brought in the pieces/ developed what was a crap qb. We're also nowhere near as bad as Nolan's squad and he won 4 games.

Football 101, second or third and long calls for a screen pass. The way the 49ers defend the screen it seems like they don't even practice the play.
How about calling a couple of screens to slow down their pass rush?

Lol no. It took them a few years to develop, he was just hired at the right time. He was a good coach for us, not saying he wasn't. But to compare his situation to Shanny's is just plain out stupid.

Uh we won 2 games last year. Yes, we are that bad.

Also, Goff was not a crap QB, so it wasn't that big of a rebuild job there. We literally had NO QB on this roster.

Look up the 2004, 2005 teams and come back here. I've seen more talent on NFL Europe rosters.

One of the downsides about starting a rookie QB is that the entire playbook may not be available. No one here knows, but it's a possibility.
LOL at some of the over reactions in this and the Lynch thread.

Outside the drama with Bowman,(drama Bow caused), this season is likely going largely as expected for the FO and staff.

They got six years for a reason, and they absolutely gutted the roster right away, which was the right way to approach.

It will take more than one off season to fix this. We are starting more rookies on the regular this season than any other team in the league.

Some of you fans should just take the season off FFS. Your not doing anything good for your health.

We took a step back today, but it was good for this team to get destroyed in the loss for a change. They were getting a false sense of ability. It was good for them to get humbled. Lets see how they react.

Its clear the secondary and OL are playing amateur football, and we have no pass rush to speak of. When that happens, in the NFL, it doesn't matter what skill players you have most of the time. Your going to have a bad day.

Time and money is what it will take to fix this roster. Luckily we have lots of Money. Just have to give the FO and coach the time.

No need, I've lived through those s**tty years as a fan. Our current team is pretty bad talent wise.

Back to the Rams comparison, that is dumb to compare their situation to ours. Flip McVay with Shanny and he would be winless too. He might actually have to stand and watch when the defense is on the field.

Please. The OL pretty much quit after the first quarter. No one could have called a wining game with that s**t. I would have f**king benched Staley. Thats how bad it was.

It may be the least talented roster we have aver had. Thats why the FO and HC got 6 years.

Patience.

Some fans need to just take the year off.
dammmit we shoulda hired tom cable

No they got six years because they fired the last two coaches after one. Had to change the narrative. Not because its going to take six years to rebuild this team.
