49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

People underrate the culture the Kyle has instilled. Loved Harbaugh as a culture coach, it was a warrior culture like ancient Sparta. Unfortunately that hard style wasn't sustainable. I personally do not hate the guy, I just don't think he's THAT of a HC... he may be best as an OC in my opinion... just like Norv and Martz were..

This... I do not hate him at all. There are people on here that treat him like Jesus or their cult leader though. That he is the best coach in the NFL, when all that matters are Lombardi's.

In my opinion he cannot be better than coaches that have already won Superbowls. Additionally, I would put him behind coaches that have produced better records in shorter time due to potential. The same way players are ranked.

Ie McDaniels, Saleh, and Ryan's are all currently more impressive because they have produced more quickly and haven't been doing it as long.

Would I rather have Jimmy g throw 30 tds and 10 picks or have a rookie throw 30 tds and 10 picks... It's about potential...

I do not want to point out the things I saw in this last game due to him coming away with a win. This was one of his better coaches games also.

His decision making will never beat top tier teams. Go for 3 on a fourth and 3 at like the 5 shows no confidence or balls. LOOK AT YOUR OFFENSE. and what does a six point lead vs a three point lead really matter? The value is to go for 7 even if you don't get it.

He just repeats the same behavior and that's not enough to beat the likes of Philly, KC, hell, Detroit. We'll see how he does against Seattle next week. I hate Pete but he's a better coach. Shanahan is an OC and a play schemer; not more than that.

Grant does do this for show but he's right here. The outright refusal to play a talented RB you have at your disposal is insane and typical shanahan. You not only avoid running CMC into the dirt but you also have the abiltiy to play a back with a different skillset. Mason is WORLDS better than CMC on a third and 1 or 2 up the gut.

Shanahan outright refuses. He's a jerkoff like that.

If he would've rested the starters it could've gone very badly. Browns scored on their next drive and had some life again. They almost scored again before the Brown INT to seal the game.

Even today's game he got cute as hell. Last two series first handoff to mcaffrey on first down he lost -3 yards the first one. Then lost -2 yards the second one. Everybody knew he was getting the ball.

Then the shotgun run on 4th down where he came up short...

I have no problem with the play calls other than the 4th down made absolutely 0 sense considering the conservative as hell end of the first half FG. Especially when you could have tried to draw them offsides or take the 5 yards penalty to give the punter more room... I was shocked the ball was even snapped.

Every one of those should have gone to mason and then some...

3 minutes left in the game, up by 13 points and Kyle is still handing the ball off to McCaffrey. He just seems hell bent on not giving any of the other backs any meaningful snaps. Mitchell had four carries. That's really giving McCaffrey a rest,

Please Kyle stop gambling with a timeout. I swear this is in our playbook and he has probably given it a name.

When we have all our timeouts in a game he gets bored and will try to draw a team offsides and we always end up calling a time out. It was 2nd a long and Kyle was trying to nickel and dime those yards. I can't remember if this ever worked for us.
