Both. I have seen a lot of football in my 65 years; went to a game against Rams at Kezar. Growing up in Vegas around gambling I learned the game is not what we think. Outcomes are affected (not fixed) by scheduling, officiating and even start times to favor certain teams so hard to take it too seriously. I view it as entertainment for us but make no mistake about it being a very lucrative business for owners; individually and collectively.

Mainly, it signals the start of fall season and much tradition in addition to giving many people something to discuss in common and hopefully in good spirits. We need that.

I am all about busting chops in good fun, but lately everything has gone political and it is annoying as s**t. Yes Sports is all about profit (how the hell is the nfl a non profit btw? lol) I love the 49ers but everyone knows I hate Jed. My hope is he lucked into Kyle and John. We can revisit my statement in 2 years lol
definitely bit off more than he could chew

Isn't Hugh considered an offensive genius also?
I mean tons of draft picks, what's the browns deal? Shouldn't they be winning now?

Coaching plays a huge part.
If the browns got a good coaching staff in, and the browns would start winning, then, everyone would say the talent was there... like the rams. Funny how that works.
lol

If you actually look at the statistics KS's Offense is on the field less than Chips....

But it's not because of the scheme. It's because they lack a lot of needed talent, especially at the interior OL.

My personal opinion Shanahan needs to hire an OC and maybe even give up play calling or he's going to be the next Mike Nolan.

But why? Why would he EVER do this? You hire Kyle Shanahan because of HIS offense philosophy and HIS playcalling.

You don't order a pizza and complain when a pizza gets delivered instead of chinese food.

Well, the good news is NFLN is covering how lost the Falcons are without Kyle Shanahan despite having the same exact personnel as last year.

Belichick has his own offensive and defensive systems in place on the Patriots but uses others to deal with the regular play calls and the day to day game planning even though he is a HOF level DC in his own right....why does he delegate?

DCs that become head coaches don't often call their own defensive plays. OCs often do. That's simply part of the NFL culture.

Shanahan's talents as a playcaller are well documented. Why give that up for the illusion of "getting help" during a rebuilding/evaluation season?

Ryan wasn't able to hit his wide open receivers last night during the game...

Go for it on 4th down twice in the 1st half and not get it, then miss a field goal..

Whatever could have went wrong for the Falcons did last night.

And the SB hangover is in full effect for the Falcons.
