Plus 2 wasted years in Tomsula and Chip. I don't know how to make it so obvious that this team wants to completely start from scratch.
Yeah firing Kyle would put us at the same category as the Browns. Who would want to coach this team if we constantly fire guys year after year? Fans can be unbelievably irrational and impatient.
Who would have wanted to work for the Yorks at the end of last year is a better question. The answer is Lynch and KS with no previous experience at the job when offered outlandish by NFL standards contacts. Given this reality we are lucky to have KS. The players Lynch brought in and drafted just don't look like they are very good. A sample size of 4 preseason games and 7 regular season games is plenty to see if an individual player has any talent but inadequate to see if a team does as a whole. Comparisons to the first Walsh years are invalid. Those players were good football players who unlike current batch would eventually form great teams.

But, if we continue to stink up the joint, it won't last 6 years neither.
What if we go say 2-14 for 3 years in a row? You don't think something will go down?
Hue Jackson has only won 1 game in the last 23 games, that is why he is crapping in his pants now.
At the end of the day it is a business and you have to win games even during a rebuild. It is imperative they show improvements through time to prove they are going in the right direction.
This is Year 1, if we don't win more than 2 games like what Kelly did, one could argue it is already not going in the right direction. There is zero rationale why Shanahan can't do better than Kelly.
Come same time next year if we only have 1 win in 23 games like the Browns now, what do you think the sentiments around will be?
So, I would say if things don't pan out, they will be out after 3 years, maximum 4, but they definitely won't get to 6.
I don't think anyone would have a problem with a change after 3 straight years of garbage football. Fact is, we have a ton of money and early draft picks to right the ship in the next few years. If we can't see improvement after year 3, Shanahan just isn't the guy. But complaining about it this year with 40 new players and a s**t interior OL with a rookie DC and a rookie 3rd round QB being thrown in behind that s**tty interior, is beyond ridiculous.

This is from an article in the news feed where Shanahan was talking about the shouting incident between Tartt and Armstrong during the last game. Seems to me to say everything you need to know about what his position is on the state of the team in 2017:
"None of this stuff is easy," he said. "Obviously, no one wants to be 0-7, but I think we have very high expectations of where we want our team and this organization to go. I see this as part of that process. I wish it could be a different process. I wish it could all be fun and games and easy for everybody, but I see this as a necessity to get to where we want to be.
"We're just not trying to win enough games to make it look acceptable. We're trying to build an organization, build it from the bottom to the top the right way so we can have sustainable success. In order to do that, you have to know exactly the type of people you're dealing with. It's not just players — it's coaches, it's everyone in this building."
This all seems perfectly acceptable and rational to me. Really don't understand why so many people are getting their panties in a twist about what they think is going on with the team. The team wasn't going to be good this year. They may not be good next year but they seem to be moving in the right direction. Let the process play out a bit before you start calling it a failure 7 games into a rebuilding season.

Number of wins is random and irrelevant at this point but there is simply no comparison between the talent level of Walsh's first teams and the current batch. Even when losing back then individual talent of players could be seen; unlike now with exception of 4-5 players at most. Also, I believe many if not most of these players were brought in by new regime but those 4-5 were all ready here. We need good players to be good in the future and I don't see nearly enough.

I see what you did there.

We got our bad game out of the way! Those things happen! look at the Cowboys how bad they looked vs Denver and the Raiders vs Washington, or the Patriots vs KC. Don't like the thinking of 2 -3 year rebuild. Need to start winning next year! Team needs to play better at end of year to attract free agents QB, WR, OL, Pass Rusher. Didn't make sense spending money this past off-season but next year we better and watch the team be competitive next year!

"You have to know exactly the type of people you're dealing with," Shanahan said. "It's not just players, it's coaches, it's everyone in this building. And sometimes, I think, it takes going through a lot of adversity to really find out who everyone is and who you are dealing with … Sometimes you've got to go through this stuff to find out who the special people are."

Worst of all it's on the road against the team with the best record in the league, so it's all but a lock at this point.

Who would have thought they would break the longest losing streak record of all time?! I am pretty sure they certainly didn't. But, now they know they have been way underperforming below expectations. Not even Baalke, Tomsula and Kelly could break the record, that's saying something, isn't it?
This Eagles game is a guaranteed loss and we would be lucky if we didn't get blown out of the water like last week.
