"So you saw the 49ers win a SB? Live?"

"Yup!"

"Old ass!"

Blessed to have Kyle Shanahan as our head coach. I hope to never see another person as the 49ers' head coach for aslong as I'm alive. The dude is literally a young Bill Belichick with his ability to coach every single aspect of football.

He's special and most people can see it.
When my brother mentioned the 29 year drought, I said that the 29 years into the 49er existence was 1975, only 6 years before winning the first one.....my God!

They won all 5 by the time I was 15 years old.

I turned 29 in 2008.

Wild how much time has truly passed. I can't fully appreciate it because time flies and I was around for the good ole days, but it's mind boggling that no 20 something could have memory of a Niner SB victory, and you'd need to be mid 30s probably to recall, late 30s/early 40s to truly have been there to appreciate (I didn't watch the first two Niner SBs).

This bothers the f**k out of me for our younger fans who deserve more, especially since the last decade has produced 6 NFC championship game participants and 2 SB appearances with #2 and #1 seeded teams respectively, not some 9/10 wildcard team from the east coast beating a dynasty twice....

Unfortunately some of the fanbase still doesn't think Kyle is a good coach, back to back NFC West titles, been to what 3 NFC Title games in past 4 years? A SB appearance, next is a SB win, hopefully SB 58.

I was born in 1984, I know they won that year, well the 84 season, into 85, I remember somewhat of the 94/95 SB win, I was 10 at that time, when I finally understood football, chose the 49ers due to Steve Young to Jerry Rice, my Brother wanted me to be a Cowboys fan, I almost was, cause I wanted to be like him, but was like nah, I love the red & gold, so 4 SB wins in my lifetime I believe, cause they won in 81/82 season I believe before Jerry was drafted here. Just grateful that 1. I've seen 2 SBs with the 49ers, sucks they lost both, I don't see them losing the next one they're in, not if it's with this roster & coaching staff/front office, and 2. seen enough NFC Title games in my time, I remember the ATL NFC Title game, we won, my Mom called me saying you're going to the SB, she knows little to nothing about football, but gets excited when I get excited about football.
Man I hope belichick comes to the 49ers as a DC. How amazing would that be? Him and Kyle like each other and have similarities. Belichick would be awesome.

Unlikely but I think it's more likely than people realize.

Yeah most people don't care about SBs from 30-40 years ago. Growing up I used to roll my eyes at the old Packers fans talking about the glory days of Vince Lombardi. They need something in the now because in the past 25 years they've won just as many SBs as the Browns, Cardinals, Cowboys and the Chargers and that's just not acceptable.

Well the super bowls from 30 to 40 years ago still have some sort of historical value. Even the new Green Bay packers fans probably respect Vince the way we still respect Walsh, god rest his soul. But yeah, I get you, the newest 49er fans haven't experienced a super bowl win and want to experience that. Me, 5 is good - but I want Mooooaaaaarrrr!

It's crazy that our first SB is coming up on nearly a decade.

Yeah, the last two Superbowl appearances gave me a sour taste in my mouth. 2012 and 2019 were great years - but no #6🏆 Hopefully this year - 3rd time's a charm. I pretty much tuned those two games out of my mind and forgotten about them because of all the bad juju I get when I'm reminded of those two games.

Man, having Belichick at DC would be insane.

We would embarrass Mahomes, Lamar, etc....more than merely compete with/slow them down.

I don't know if Belichick would like being second fiddle to Kyle though. Just my opinion.

Kyle and belichick have a mutual respect and I think Kyle would give whoever his DC is complete control. It would be wild and having those two team up would be insane.

none of us know what BB wants at this age, but I could see him wanting to just coach and not have all the pressure/media/time that goes into running an organization. Just help out and coach his speciality. Be an AHC and provide feedback on prospects.

That combo would be insane and there isn't another coach who could provide Kyle with the type of wisdom and insight that BB could.

All these legendary coaches moving on these past few days.....should grow a stronger appreciation for Shanahan.

It's a new age in a sense. The current NFL rules are worlds apart from the '80's rules and the '90's rules. CTE had a big impact on the rules this last decade and as many have said, you can't compare even the last decade to this decade teams because of all the rules changes.

The way everything is going - 99% of all future head coaches will be from the offensive side versus the defensive side. That means Shanahan's coaches will continue to be poached time and time again.

If he wins this year, safe to say Kyle is the best coach in the league?
