Unlikely but I think it's more likely than people realize.

Man, having Belichick at DC would be insane.

We would embarrass Mahomes, Lamar, etc....more than merely compete with/slow them down.

It wouldn't be fair to the rest of the league for sure.

Even more reason for it to happen 😈😈

Heh, NFL might step in and require 49ers to give up draft picks for Belichick.

lol no way on earth
he's gonna be given full org control and a fat contract
I agree, if he's given another chance, that's what he would want. But I don't know if the new organization would agree to that considering he was HC/GM for the Pats for the last 3+ years and hasn't really done wall without Tom.

I think the only way BB goes to another team is if he has a franchise qb. He doesn't want a Cleveland situation again or the last handful of years with pats, he will want to win now.

i just get this feeling that he wants to ease into retirement and enjoy these last years. I'm hoping the results in him doing something with the niners.

Men, Belichick's defense - I don't think is compatible with what the 49ers do. The Wide 9 is an unsound run defense, and I would think that would drive Bill insane. 🙃

this is a guy on the Mt Rushmore of NFL coaching
Sometimes the hiring cycle gives you Art Smith or Tomsula lol, BB there is a bidding war as we speak, no doubt about it

Meh, Bill Walsh's concepts obsoleted Don Shula and Tom Landry and these are hall of fame coaches. I think it might be the same with Belichick. The times may have passed him by. I respect Belichick as a coach, but those deflate-gate and film-gate stuff in addition to him not doing very well without Tom leads me to believe he might not be all that great as we believe him to be.

i wonder if there is a chance he takes a front office role with us if peters leaves.

I'd imagine the best case scenario would be some sort of consultant role. He lives in the northeast. Don't think he wants to be out west.

Well I'd imagine the opportunity would have to be worth his time at this age, he likes the sail - he can do that here. If I was his age, I'd want to work for a first class organization with coaches/front office I respect and a team who can truly compete.

I think he has a lot of respect for Kyle and Lynch.

like I said, I think it's a long shot, but I don't think it's as far fetched as some believe.

I think bill is respected enough and creative enough to find some common ground with Kyle to make him happy.

even though the pats offense has been horrible, his defense has actually been solid. Just put in horrible situations all year long, but def not the problem.

Kyle and belichick have a mutual respect and I think Kyle would give whoever his DC is complete control. It would be wild and having those two team up would be insane.

none of us know what BB wants at this age, but I could see him wanting to just coach and not have all the pressure/media/time that goes into running an organization. Just help out and coach his speciality. Be an AHC and provide feedback on prospects.

That combo would be insane and there isn't another coach who could provide Kyle with the type of wisdom and insight that BB could.

I dunno, Kyle's dad has a lot of experience and wisdom - specially on the all important QB position. But yeah, I get the fact that Kyle and Bill would be a loaded from the football IQ standpoint. I just don't know if they will get along personally and from an ego standpoint. If anything, Belichick - as an old offensive lineman - should help Kyle on the Offensive Line issues.
BB has gone to KS for advice and BB also tried to implement Kyle's scheme. BB loves him some KS
Well, Kyle's dad testified in support of Bill with the various [****]-Gate controversies so - there's also that connection between Kyle and Bill. So there's a lot of connections between the two families.

I think this is a big reason Kyle has earned the respect of his players. Even when things were bad that first year as they started off 0-9, he never lost the room. He is the smartest guy in the room.

Agree 💯%, he's one hell of a coach. He's pretty much cutting edge on anything offense. What he get's away with the offensive line he has is just simply amazing.
With Belichick and Carroll moving on from Patriots and Seahawks that leaves Kyle Shanahan now only behind Tomlin (17 seasons), Harbaugh (16), and Reid (11) for coaching longevity among active head coaches at 7 seasons (McVay and McDermott with 7 as well).

Hope he hits 15+ with multiple championships for us.

Kyle has said he wants to coach until 60, so we have hopefully another 16 years with him that lends to us getting multiple chips.

my hope is that him and Brock are a dynamic duo for the next 15 years and they make some pretty incredible history.

Belichick would never downgrade himself to a DC after winning 6 SB titles. Pete Carroll OTOH might be willing to just to spite Seattle. And that might be someone we could use.

With that said, I can't imagine any team would hire Wilks over Carroll. So it's not happening.

In a vacuum no, but that's assuming Carroll still wants to be a HC for a team.

I think at his age that's a big undertaking for a new squad, even for Mr. 20 year old in a 72 year old body.
Last chance. The best team in 25 years here with the 49ers. The most healthy other than Hufanga. Every team has a few injuries. Even the rest week and the #1 seed. Win the Super Bowl or go away.

Then we bring in Coach Bill Belichick. I got this team in the Super Bowl with that.

Win the SB and you go away sounds so much better
