Yup, and always getting to the NFCC each time is rather underrated.
Was a big deal when Harbaugh did it, and it's probably harder to do that now.

Even though he hasn't won a SB Kyle will be in his 4th NFC title game in 5 years. Not a bad record. This will be the Niners 17th title game since 1980. That's 38% of all the title games since 1980. That doesn't even count the other playoff games. This is the 25th time since 1980 that they have at least made the playoffs.
I know we all want another SB but we've been really spoiled compared to the rest of the league. Few teams can match that success. We have to appreciate how good this team has been compared to what the rest of the league has done.

People are saying he called a bad game. Maybe so because CMC rushed under 20 times and there were times he could have run it.
But he clearly trusts Brock and they delivered when it counted most. We've gotten accustomed to put our heads down and call it a L when we're down during crunch time. Kudos to him and Brock to deliver. With Brock at the helm he's not going to whither like Jimmy G, so I expect this formula to do much better going forward. If Kittle didn't have that drop Brock would have been perfect that final drive with some tough precise throws.

It's not like Kyle doesn't call running plays though. Usually 2 plays are called and the QB checks to which play works better against what the D is showing. The Packers were not going to let CMC run in a light box. Now in hindsight we should have just kept bludgeoning them but Kyle trusting his QB isn't a bad thing.

You would never fire him. If he can't get it done you just try to get 2x first and 2x seconds. I bet some team would be dumb enough to do it also.

Fans love to question the decisions that coaches make and the coaches sometimes question themselves when a play doesn't work. Still I won't criticize unless it's a really bad decision like going for it on your own 30 like Buffalo did yesterday. Coaches have a far better idea of which players to use and what plays to call than any of us. They work with these guys every day. They know how healthy they are and how they look in practice. They study film all week. They develop game plans based on what they see.
None of us knows more about football than these coaches. We may think we understand the game but not on the level they do. When coaches fail to build a winning team then it's okay to say they need to be replaced. Calling for a new coach because he didn't run the plays you wanted is just silly.

Only one dumb is the team trading Kyle in that situation.

Both can be and are true.
He is one of the best coaches in the league...and he called a bad game in my opinion.
Totally derailed when deebo went out.
ended the 2nd qrtr with a whimper.
But give credit...sealed the deal at the end.

Going back to that clock mgmt,.
1:19 in half 2nd and 5 - CMC for 3 yds run
Kyle then elects to run the entire playclock and call TO #1, prior to 3rd and 2.
ball is on the GB 43
This almost is 2 errors. Firstly, we fixed the MIN issues, right? Wilks is gonna call nothing gets behind the safeties shell coverage, cuz that's what he's been instructed to call. Also, their kicker sucks. Also, it's a rain game. So it's highly unlikely they come away with anything more than a risky (as we would soon find out) FG attempt. So burning the play clock is probably a lil much. Also if you want to burn clock, just snap the ball at 1. Burning a TO as well compounds the error.
0:34 complete to JJ for 5 yards and first down
we are immediately in hurry up no huddle, as the clock now working against us, Kyle stops the hurry up with TO #2.
0:28 remaining caught by CMC over the middle for 8
0:15 Purdy spikes
am I understanding this correct? we spiked the ball while having a TO in our pocket?
0:14 ball thrown away
0:10 FG no good
so basically after picking up the 1st, we got one real play it was a dumpoff over the middle. Kyle would then go in to the locker room, complaining about not having many possessions and 'needing to make every possession count' (something to that effect).

Who is the next Walsh if its not Kyle? 9ers don't need to be hiring 70 year old fossils like others want.
So whos that guy?

on the clock mgmt, it's probably more of a challenge for an O playcaller to juggle clock, while also calling O plays
