Just said in his post game conference that he thought the defense played "a really good game"

"One of their best games of the season"

Interesting take as I too recall the Walsh 2-14 team.
Do you not recall after that season the media calling for him to be fired? How about the start of the 80 season. ? Win 3 then lose 8 in a row.
This is the almost groundhogs day all over. A lot of new and young players trying to figure out a new system. Only difference here is our prior GM really depleted us in terms of talent and depth on this roster. We had mince meat going into this season.

Injuries and lack of depth and talent this is the exact result you'd expect. Lol you really think our mgmt is confused into what to do with the players?

Fk man so many whiners on th zone it's embarrassing yet hey that's our nickname so it is what it is. What did people think we were going to do this year?
Apparently so many people on here have unrealistic expectations it's comical. Full rebuild folks. Wake up to reality. Reality is our past GM hamstrung is badly with this roster. Big time. IMHO I figured 3 drafts under this mgmt and we would see a big move come year 3/4. Patience is a virtue folks. I know that's not a reality for some

You expected us to be 0-16? I knew we weren't going to be good, but 0-16 is a little hard to take. I mean we were the first team to win 5 Super Bowls and now we're going to be only the second team to go 0-16. That's not good no matter what we thought going into the season.

They did. They allowed 10 points in the first half. Then they kept the team in the game through the middle of the third. Offense left them out to dry by doing zilch and having a Pick 6 in that time. Then they simply wore out in the 2nd half because they'd been on the field all day.

The defense played far, far better than last week.

lol he's truly clueless. Nolanesque, but at least Nolan drafted some good players.

Good post.

+1
I don't see progress. I know the trending media is on shanny/Lynch ball sack but the regression is obvious. Teams with less talent and coaches with less control have faired better

I see progress in younger players like Thomas, Witherspoon, Breida, Kittle, etc. The talent is pretty damn bad though, and that talent hole was dug by Baalke over 4 years. Its gonna take a few years to dig out of it.

But nothing is gonna change unless the OL gets a major overhaul. They need upgrades at C and both OG this off-season.

While we're at it why don't we post Montana's first 2 starts and pretend Beathard is the next GOAT qb based off that. They were picked in the same range. Who needs Cousins we can just pretend that it's 1980 again.

Marty Mortinwheg went 2-14 his 1st year too it didn't mean he's Bill Walsh.

I see your the glass half full guy. All I'm saying is take away the hype of the new coach and the team has shown me nothing to be optimistic about

Montana at least had a solid OL in front of him in 1979-80. Beathard played badly today but he also needs a run game to help him out some. I don't see Beathard as a long term starter but I'm far, far more worried that Kilgore, Tomlinson and Fusco may be starting again next year than I am Beathard (though I hope all four of them are not starting Week 1 next season).

There is zero comparison between KS and Bill Walsh.... it's an absolute insult to insinuate any such thing could potentially ever exist.... Bill Walsh was offensive innovator, he changed the game.... KS has been a decent play caller at times.... More garbage time points and yards to make the situation seam less bleak than it is.... The Rams won the off season in an total rout.

I am when a coach's history suggests I should be. What's more likely, that Shanahan suddenly forgot how to run an offense after 10 years of being great at it, or that the team after multiple failed drafts has a talent deficiency?
