Reid hired an OL coach to be a defensive coordinator. Imagine the reaction here if Kyle announced Foerster as Wilks's replacement.

Wasn't Wilks a QB coach or something in the offensive side anyway?
i could not agree more with this.

"It's a deficiency in this passing game that the pass protection is not the first thought, and it has been."

The bigger the moment the more it starts to go sideways. There were moments vs GB and DET where it was like wow, we are gonna get walked off by Love or Goff, with a much better team. We struggled big time, then got outcoached in the bowl.

it's not the fact it goes sideways, but the pulling of interior O-lineman more specifically, on a crucial passing play. to JTO, which showed there is less of an emphasis on pure-pass protection than there should be.

I am with you I pointed out JTO on this and Schwartz an NFL lineman went over this in great detail about how crap it is. Kyle getting cute and the result is we clownishly fail to block one of the premier players in football.

ah, I gotcha

while I will continue to defend Kyle for the most part in this game, I think he DOES need to re-evaluate the O-line and its functionality in his scheme. what I mean by that is, that it's a more deep-rooted problem we keep witnessing surface in crucial passing down situations. whether its personnel, scheme, or personnel to fit his scheme, something needs to change. (or adapt).

The playcalling is fine. but its how the O-line operates WITHIN the play call that should be in question. IMO.
He's not going to the combine. Too busy finding a defensive coordinator from a system he doesn't like. Who he can micro manage.

I know folks think alot about this drive and this play, but the thing is... we would have probably still lost of we got a TD here.

BECAUSE Andy Reid and Pat Mahomes would have had four downs on their next drive to get a TD... and Andy would have went for two, if you use common sense.

Our final drive before the end of the 4th Qtr was the killer. Should have never went into overtime, if your overtime strategy was not full proof. We should have stayed in control and left on our own terms that 4th QTR... or that overtime (by recieving second).

When did he go to the combine last?

Amen, there were many Kyle errors

from bad 3rd down pass pro
settling for FGs
not having guys at all prep'd for OT
OT plan of 3rd possession not materializing, giving a benefit to KC of 4 downs

the big one to me, is getting into a 2nd and 5 and getting completely stonewalled. That was our chance to win the SB. Kyle had to solve the riddle of Spags. Or just have some stones and consider 3rd and 5 two down territory, which opens up the run menu on 3rd down. A simple 2nd and 5 resulting in a first down, probably wins us the SB.
