I don't see Vrabel as a 'rah rah' coach.....that's more Pete C's angle. Having said that, you can question some of Campbell's decisions, but the team played all out for the guy. The players have bought into him, but the question is how long he can go with it, and how does he evolve.

A guy on that list I have always found overrated is Mike Tomlin. Yeah...his players love his quips and whatnot, and the media falls over themselves for that nonsense, but when was the last time the Steelers won a playoff game? 7 years ago? Dude is average at best.
Agree completely Tomlin is highly overrated.

Mout coaches don't even make the playoffs, etc alone consistently win. Its insulting to call him average. He isn't Andy Reid, but he isn't Brandon Staley either or some mid name.
Pretty clear they want to improve coverage ideas, hence why Wilks and now Sorenson and Staley. We'll see how it goes.

Bunch of meh signings.

Maybe he wants Staley to help him decide when he should and shouldn't be going for it on 4th down? He's all about analytics and though it bit him in the ass with the Chargers it could work for us.

Shanny is making sure no one stands in the way of KC's three-peat.

This is a public forum for 49er fans. I don't see a test allowing entry that says we have to post certain things.

It's all good. Ignore me, put me down, whatever floats your boat.

Until Shanachoke wins the dance, he will always be Shanachoke.

No need to play victim dude. It's not that serious. I can see why you would be disappointed in KS. I don't think there's an easily identifiable or available and suitable replacement.

Kyle's problem is Kyle. He needs someone to work with him as a o oordinatorthat he can discuss options for certain plays. He just does not know what to do when it matters most. It's like he's playing Madden with the CMC cheat code. He needs someone to say "they're not looking at Ayuik let's run a wheel route or if not open a hitch to kittle." I know Kyle's ego is too strong to break but he won't change until it's too late.

How do you know he doesn't or wasn't already doing something like this with Fleury, Lynn or Kubiak this past season?

I'd give this guy serious consideration as DC just bc he has the balls to call Shanny out on his BS. I'm glad Wilks is out bc his downfall occurred way before the SB, but that gutting loss to KC was all Shanny and his inability to take advantage with all-star cast on offense.

Damn shameful

I missed out on commenting on this... but for those curious why he doesn't know Aiyuk's name... imo it was delivered that way on purpose.

Remember Merritt's players are like his family. I love Aiyuk, but Kyle tells him to get under the skin of DBs to draw penalties.. and it works. But don't be surprised, if opposing players and position coaches don't take the opportunity to get pay back after said game.

It was a bad look.. Aiyuk doing that s**t all game (shoving and talking s**t obviously, to bait), only for Kyle to abandon his best wide reciever in the most important game of their lives.

He isn't Staley but bringing Staley on tells you all you need to know. Leadership 101. Hire smarter people or more talented people than yourself. Know your weaknesses and find people to cover them. What does Kyle do? The exact opposite. In my book Kyle is a hair above average. What a waste,,, if he wakes up and admits he needs help in certain areas he will be a great coach. Not happening though.

I suspect Deebo came to him at some point and said to him, Give me the damn ball if you want to win the SB. So Kyle, who thinks the solar system revolves around Deebo, decides to make him the centerpiece of the game. Except Deebo can't separate from man coverage. Now all of a sudden when you're trying to pass in the 3rd quarter on 8/9 plays with a chance to close out the opponent, and your main guy can't get open (3 catches on 11 targets), your offense falls apart. What worked ? When Shanny went to the REAL star player CMC early in the first and later on the game.

Poor Aiyuk was an afterthought. On both key plays that could have iced the game (3rd and 4 in 4th quarter, and in OT) Aiyuk was WIDE OPEN for a game winning play. Both he wasn't option A on either play.

What a s**tshow…

Exactly he's average, yet many in the media act like he's top tier that equals highly overrated to me.
