Yes. 12th overall is middling. That defense also needed a prayer to beat Manning and the Broncos.

You are the one making 101 excuses for losing to the worst SB winner of the 21st century while hating a guy for losing to two dynasties.

Broncos game was close because of 2 kick returns, that's not on their defense. You're looking at their reg season ranking. They were a different animal when healthy

It was close because Rahim Moore couldn't play a deep pass properly. Broncos had the game won.

Chiefs were a wire to wire best defense in the NFL.

Was the 2013 nfc title game an offensive choke? Or just bad execution?

It was a one score game before the Rahim Moore play smh how is that what made it close? The Ravens defense deserved that one, they shutdown a great offense for 6 quarters

Ask Drew Brees. That was an all time great defense in the toughest environment. But you want to give Kyle a pass for laying duds against the chiefs on a neutral field

So the defense matters but we are gonna pretend the Ravens is all time great because reasons. And every display by the 9ers offense under Harbaugh was execution but with Kyle he's solely responsible.

Playing against great defense is tough. That was my whole point. But you can't give Chiefs any credit.

Playing against middling defense that is trying to be passed off as elite is less so.
Kyle's hubris got the best of him, finally. I've been a staunch supporter but no more. A truly piss poor offensive line will reveal itself in the next 2-3 years and we will likely find ourselves drafting MUCH higher.

We get it already
on an unrelated note... does anyone know why Kyle Shanahan likes to bench/inactivate young players for weeks on end?
example: Aiyuk when he was young
Ronnie Bell lately..
a few other RB's we've had over years, and I'm sure we've had numerous other incidents

is this coaching style inherited from his dad? did Mike do the same stuff when he was coaching? what kind of coaching philosophy is this? where did it originate from?

I understand, you sit a player if he's costing your team games or points.. but to completely ignore him for weeks on end (put him the doghouse) so to say.. you guys think that's a bit too much?
We're building an offensive juggernat, we need to absolutely destroy everyone with an all time great O to finally get this thing over the line.

He doesn't put them in the doghouse if they do the little things properly. Aiyuk owned up to basically coasting early on and that's why he found himself in the doghouse.

Obviously it helped him put it all together. Other guys didn't because they're not built that way but I'm sure Kyle would rather not do that.

Hopefully all our additions are self motivated so they don't need a doghouse wake up call.

We HAD an offensive juggernaut and still lost to a Chiefs team that wasn't fielding its best product. You think a couple draft picks will make this team more potent ?

the Shanafans need a reality check. The reason this team doesn't play to its potential is because of the head coach. Can't keep blaming Jimmy, other players, and other coaches just to cover up for the glaring weakness standing on the sideline.

but don't take it from the fans that have already caught on. Kyle's demise will become apparent soon enough (another year or two). Those same supporters will go complete 180 on him….

The dude in KC just wins rings and is always in super bowls. Yeah he's substantially better than Kyle.
