Umm watching the o-line fail in two super bowls.

So played out a good part of the NFL is going out of their way to replicate it.
I love this back and forth lol
49ers go big on Florida. 1st round pick: Florida WR. 7th round pick: Florida State LB. FA signing: Florida Atlantic DL. Hmm.....

The team that beat them in the Superbowl knew to trade up for the more talented Suamataia. These dudes wait 20 more picks to draft a less talented player. I like Puni tape, but the are passing up better players.
we now have enough WRs to push the envelope a bit perhaps 31st in pass attempts

Yeah I'm not sure how I feel about that. Folks had him mocked to us in the first and he was there in the second. What will make it more interesting is if Puni doesn't beat out Mckivvitz then why not take Kingsley and let him develop this year as well?

This regime just doesn't focus on the o line like others.

Yah nevermind that Chris Jones tosses everyone aside in the NFL. You act like it was just some talented rookie who owned the 49ers right side of the O-line, if it was, then I'd agree. And I wouldn't say that the O-line failed in two Super Bowls, the first Shanahan Super Bowl, IMO, was due to a lack of play calling in the running game. Mostert had only 12 attempts in that game, Brieda - Inactive and Jeff Wilson had one carry, Tevin Coleman 5 carries and Deebo had 3 carries. Only 20 carries, during the season the carry the somewhere around 40 times a game.

Anyway, getting played out, no I don't think so. The Shanahan tree is growing in the NFL, New Orleans just picked up Kubiak as their OC.

Chris Jones was arguably the MVP for the first Superbowl. Other teams may be adopting Kyle's scheme, but that does not mean they are drafting the same way. Kansas City won the Superbowl and this draft said we still want the best talent at the position of need. They wanted speed and .over up to draft the fastest receiver. They wanted a tackle and moved up to get him. You draft talent and coach them.

Unlikely with the best Rb In the league on the team.
I just don't understand that they can pay so much money to TW but at the same time they don't really care about the other side of the O-line.

The thing about wide receivers is there is only one ball to go around per play. These guys are egomaniacs too

And the 49ers lost the Super Bowl because their secondary shut down our passing offense. So we went out and got man beating receivers. They also prepared themselves for possible departures of Deebo, Lenoir, Banks, and Hufanga after 2024. Did you not see how our passing game was off most of the time? The Chiefs secondary had more to do with that than their D line. Or did you listen to Spagnuolo secondary comments about how he played the 49ers as the game went on?

I haven't been able to rewatch the game, but I have seen videos of the protection issues. The one below is from a non 49er fan.

Paying him so much $ is part of the reason why they can't pay more elsewhere.

also it's not like they haven't invested in the OL. Top 10 pick at RT. Made their center one of the highest paid guys at one point. Top 50 pick at LG. Just moved up for another OG. Signed Mack at one point.
