Truth hurts.

Isn't it sad though. Instead of having the luxury of a loaded roster and aiming for a dynasty, we're hoping that the gods will favor us and give us ONE Super Bowl victory so we could be at peace. That's how low we've become as a fanbase. It's the frustrating thing with Shanahan and his fans. They're willing to lower expectations to accommodate his mediocrity. Instead of relying on his skill and expertise, we're banking on luck.

The only people lowering expectations are those with ridiculously overblown ones in the first place.

1) Winning ONE Superbowl would be a fantastic achievement. Ask the many many teams who have tried and failed over the years.

2) You absolutely do (very often) require a bit of luck to get over the line. Chiefs certainly had plenty against us.

The. Chiefs had Kyle not luck to help them win 2.

Hey mods, how about a new thread for those folks that blame the HC for everything? That way, they can pat each other on the back for blaming the coach when things aren't as they wish, and the rest of us can talk about football. That would be nice. Failing that, maybe a boycott by the rest of us by blocking these haters so that they only get responses from their little clan of haters? It's really getting to be not much fun to getting through their crap posts every single day!

The Kyle thread is to discuss Kyle. What would you expect to see here? If you don't like it switch to another topic. What else is there to discuss in here? Blow games.. get criticized. Blow superbowl… get criticized. Call dumb ass plays… get criticized. There is a Kyle scheme thread if you want to analyze the genius play designs… if he converts all the talent handed to him into a championship you will see the praise his apologists desperately seek.. until then though expect to see harsh but honest takes.

Yet at one point in the game it was their star Tight End yelling aggressively at their Head Coach. The fact is if those bounces had gone our way instead of theirs (freak injury to Linebacker; O-Lineman; Special Teams bounce), we would have won.

I'm not saying you should rely on luck. The best way to win is to separate yourself from the opposition. But there are other good teams in the NFL, not just us. Eventually luck does come into it, for everybody.

After watching the 1994 Niners superbowl team beat Dallas it's apparent that all the way up and down the organization they were very committed to winning. That o line was stout. Wallace, Sapolo, Oats Deese and Barton held the awesome Dallas pass rush and opened holes for Watters and Young. Until this organization figures out how important the oline is to winning, we will have trouble getting over the hump.

Kyle's part of the problem but not the only hurdle. We have an organization the is ok with just making the tournament but not winning it all.

Until we have someone who is better as a head coach, Kyle is what we have. He just needs to stay out of building the team his way. He should give a general direction and step back. Eddie D the year before said we will get better D players to beat Dallas and he did. Yes the team was back in a minor rebuild but they did win our last one.

People are sometimes too harsh on Kyle over his accomplishments.

Don't forget that he's played a major role in building the last known dinasty: the Kansas City Chiefs.

I don't doubt that the haters really believe their "honest takes'. The problem is that just because you actually believe something, it doesn't make it factual. 99% of the time an 'honest take' is an opinion combined with wishful thinking. My thought is there are guys on here that believe that winning the SB is all there is to this game. Falling short of that makes the team a failure. This 'logic' is like saying " Hey I got five out of six in the lottery, and being unhappy with that because it wasn't the 'big one'. 22 players, each with a job to do, an assignment that is part of the play design. Blaming the HC for so and so not doing his job and not blaming the player is just lazy thinking. But then it would also require that the 'fan' know what the play design was and why it was called when it was called. Strategy is crucial to a winning game plan. But let's just hang it all on the HC. That's so much easier! Forget about all the other coaches and players involved, it the HC's fault, every time for these haters.
I didn't think we had a team last season that was just ok with us getting to the tournament..cept for Chase and maybe Wilks lol
But what about the cursing of Kyle as a young boy which has led him to have had such bad luck in Superbowls.

Kyle isn't losing because he is a bad coach, he is simply cursed by a devil or a witch or someone who can bring supernatural powers to make sure that a person never achieves their goals and thus a whole supporter base also must suffer.
