Just like the final drive in Cleveland. On Armsteads podcast Aiyuk let it slip that Kyle didn't know what to call on that drive. Im sorry, but we can't have that anymore from Kyle. The team that was prepared for the moment came out on top, and it's not surprising

We doing this crap again?

He didn't have a plan for OT? You just don't like the plan and get to hate on it even more because it failed.

Want to know the plan? It was score a TD, something they were certainly well in range of doing if Burford does what he's coached to do and then the expectation was the defense holds the lead.

That's the other funny thing here for all the "we're the Bills" if we played that same game in the rules of those days the 49ers won the SB.

And what are you even talking about Cleveland? You mean the game where the kicker missed a 41 yarder FG to win it?

We are the opposite of the Bill Walsh 80's 49ers. Back then our offense seemed almost automatic at the end of games and in those situations.

Andy Reid had his team coached up and ready to go when it turned into situational football. Reid wasn't drinking during the O.T rules meeting with the officials LOL.

Walsh was great, but you need to stop acting like coaches make players. Idk why for football so many people credit the coaches. Montana, Rice, Lott, etc., deserve most of the credit.

Nobody says Phil Jackson was the main catalyst for Kobe/MJ/Shaq

Nobody credits Messi's/Ronalodo's coaches for their success.

Nobody credits Gretzky's coach for his success.

Nobody credits Bonds/Mays/90s Yankees coach for their success.

We tried to do that with BB/Brady for a bit, and then everybody realized Brady >>> BB.

The last two sentences of your post are dumb as f**k and won't even reply LOL.

And our players not knowing the OT rules changed nothing. We've had this conversation like 100+ times in here. NOTHING. Getting the ball first or second and the result changes nothing about the actual plays you have to make. You still play football - your goal is score a TD and stop KC from scoring theirs. Were the OT rules different somehow? No? Then stop making it something it wasn't.

KC looked lost with all their amazing coaching until a kick hit our rookie's leg and McCloud was too stupid to fall on the ball and decided to pick it up and run with it handing KC the easy TD and total game changer.

At 44:30 he says Kyle didn't know what to do. Then he catches himself and tries to reword it, but still says Kyle didn't know what play to run. I expect Kyle and the rest of the team to have a plan for these situations. It blew my mind when Aiyuk said that

you really stretching that part and not being genuine.. like always lol

but you forgot the part right after when BA said Kyle dials up a 1 on 1 play for BA to get open

It's complete nonsense and might be one of the dumbest reaches yet. In context it was obvious he was talking about the struggles they had throughout the course of the game, not that Kyle didn't 'know what to do'. They huddled and ran a quick snap play… which worked out quite well. Who do you think called that play?

Seriously. What's even more amusing is dude was using that clip to show Kyle doesn't prepare the team when shortly after they talk about the coaching BA received to help him do what he did on that play.

And yes that game was sloppy as hell from Brock cuz of the rain, Deebo being out. CMC being out at that point and Trent playing on one leg vs one of the top pass rushers in the game. Kyle asking his best player at that point to make a play isn't crazy or indicative of someone who doesn't actually know what to do. Just means in that moment in a game where few things are going right you just dial up something quick to get the ball into your talent's hands and let them work.

It's clear what he was saying. Kyle doesn't have go to passing plays

"Idk what to do, or idk what play to call in this situation, or lets just get the ball to somebody and see what we can do"

That's Aiyuk describing Kyle in that situation. All I know is Kyle should be a little more prepare for those scenarios. It's absolutely ridiculous that the smartest offensive mind in the NFL is fumbling around not knowing what he wants to do on a final drive

It's great that Aiyuk ran by a bunch of guys that decided not to tackle on that play, but that doesn't excuse Kyle. Like I said before, he's just out there running plays in crunch time, there is no plan. He needs to brush up on his dropback passing offense. He's lost when there's no threat to run

Yes...Kyle Shanahan doesn't have go to passing plays. That's the narrative you really want to go with?

Andy is also about 4 to 8-ish years to retirement. Kyle's 22 years younger than Reid and Reid needs overtime (same with Bill Belichick) to beat Kyle.

Walsh was great at drafting, designing offense, calling offense, and in-game strategy. He was everything offense, and changed the way the game was played.

More importantly he won the regular season, playoffs, and super bowl utilizing a system that became the standard.

Walsh also used a player development strategy (Dr. Harry Edwards) that looked at the whole person not just the football player, coaching development strategy, and a minority coaching strategy (Fellowship Program) that was very well thought out.

Bottom line is Walsh was in the same type of situations in big games and HE won those games. He won those games in the off season with preparation and strategy. We can try to take this away from the legend by saying it was the players but guess what; Walsh picked those players, had a plan for those players, and was never embarrassed or out classed on the big stage. Montana didn't win a SB in KC when he left, he did a hell of a job but Walsh's hand picked Montana successor won one with Walsh's hand picked replacement Coach Seifert. The man planned his own funeral, and that my friend is GENIUS!

Kyle doesn't quite measure up to a top 3 coach of all time. I know I want him fired for that.

Andy beat him twice, didn't need overtime the first time. But he did have to come from behind to beat Kyle both times, so I guess thats how the Bengals fans feel about Bill Walsh; "HE had to come from behind to beat us in the super bowl, so we are great too!". What does age have to do with anything from a coaching standpoint?

The Rams coach is only 38 years old and he has already won a super bowl. And he had to do it at the end of the game in come back fashion. Now I believe that game was rigged but hey, he won the super bowl LOL.

Both Super Bowls Kyle was in were f**kin rigged. Funny how Bill Vinovich got to be head ref for both of them. It's also funny that AFC teams seem to win majority of the time whenever he is the ref. It's also funny that whenever Vinovich is the ref the 9ers lose much more times than coming out the victors.

Andy Reid and f**k KC, go be a b***h KC fan then.

I don't want him fired, just want to point out that there are holes in what he's doing that need to be fixed.

Problem is his "gods gift" attitude.

We are not the Detroit Lions, or the Bengals, we are the 49ers so we've been to the top of the mountain and we know what it looks like and what it takes to make that the norm/standard. This is not what it looks like, should be setting the standard and not being content with almost getting to the top. 5-0

I was thinking the same thing until I heard the sound bite of Kyle saying "I didn't know the overtime rule".

Ref didn't call the play at the goal line leaving KC's best Defensive player unblocked.
Refs didn't fumble the ball in the redzone going in with all momentum.
Ref didn't screw up the punt return.

This is on the guy in charge, and this is why I give the credit to Bill Walsh, he made sure we were firing on all cylinders when it mattered most.

I am a 49ers fan through and through. But I am not new to this, I am more Eddie D then Jed York in the way I think and approach things re 49ers football. No need to switch to KC as I know what its like to win right here 5-0.

But I can also recognize what the greats are doing too Reid/Mahomes 3-1. They are the new Cowboys, something we need to think about as we attempt to climb this mountain again.
