Respect Shanny for shooting his shot. Smart man.

what could've been.

Shows there's no ego like everyone thinks

lol i had a guy on twitter claim it showed he had an ego because he knew there was no chance Belichick would take it.

Can't make this s**t up...some people just living to hate the man.

I hope they keep Banks, he's a young and upcoming player. Left tackle is definitely a priority next year as long as Trent is still on the team, simply because of his age.

In addition to the center position, I'd throw in the right tackle position depending on how McKivits plays in his 2nd year starting. I think offensive line has become a ShanaLynch priority because of the emergence of Purdy. Give this guy time, and some good route running receivers and he's going to dice up defenses.

3 straight NFCCG's is pretty good for a choker HC. Teams are right to fear the 49ers. Its just a matter of time before Kyle/Brock tandem wins a Superbowl. It takes time for Kyle to transition the offense from an immobile QB/raw inexperienced QB to an accurate and mentally superior QB in Brock.

OLine has gotten bigger(Burfordvs Puni), and the WR's have become more agile and quick, vs hybrid option like RB/WR types (example: Deebo vs Aiyuk/Pearsall)

While I love you optimism the odds are he missed his shot. Imo If we win anything it'll be because of Purdy.

How it should be...players win games, great QBs win you games, Reid needed Pat to finally get over the hump. As great as Walsh/BB were, if their QBs were not good enough they weren't going to win much, especially no SBs.

And that goes for every sport at every level. You need to have the right players. Idk why some niner fans think that the coach should be the one winning games, it's so damn dumb.

It's funny I saw someone on twitter yesterday claim that Andy Reid never choked the way Shanahan has...

Dude forgot the fact that Andy lost 3 straight NFC Championship games. 2 of them at home and by double digit scores. Lost a SB to cap that nice run off.
With the Chiefs he blew a 28 point lead in the 3rd quarter...as the actual HC. Lost a home game where the other team couldn't score a single TD. Lost another home game they were leading 21-3 at halftime.

Can you imagine Kyle doing that stuff?

But Andy Reid bad lucked himself into Chris Jones and Patrick Mahomes and got himself a great DC that burned his HC bridges so he doesn't have to worry about replacing him. Now all that is forgotten and he's one of the greats.

No use wondering "what if" but good point. Who knows how our fortunes may have turned if we still had Saleh or if DeMeco stayed another year.

Well duh (and not a knock on Kyle btw), but that doesn't change what I said.

I mean that's true for every HC. That's what 49AllTheTime is saying.

I guess the argument is no HC is great without a great qb? I get that. Kyle has not been good or even lucky (until now) in finding a QB. Thank god he did, we were getting restless.

You got me thinking.. It made think of Parcells somewhat, as he has never had a super star qb, but very good ones and almost always fielded very competitive teams. Of course he did win a couple of SB though. Having LT didn't hurt. BTW I find it wild him and Belicheck said after the first practice they knew they had an all timer.

WHAT separate the REAL great HCs from the Media Proclaimed Great Coaches is the ability to Game Plan. Look at how Bill Walsh attacked Dan Marino and his defense in the Super Bowl?

Look at how Bill Parcells attacked us in that NFCCG when RC fumbled..

and last but not the list, just go back how Bill Parcells attacked the K-Gun offense by using OJ Anderson..

this is what Kyle has YET to learn.

Not expecting that to happen any time soon.
