It's called budgeting and as silly as it sounds most people (and governments etc.) are incapable of this.

The 49ers have been rolling over cap space and planning ahead.

We all knew the bill for Brock Purdy was coming due.

BA's contract saved them like $8M this yr. Not sure about Trent's deal yet

They actually should have more cap space now for 2024 with both Trent and Brandon signing extensions.

Actually I don't think Trent was counting towards the books while he was holding out. He had no guaranteed money.

Nah his cap hit has always been on the books. Cap hits and GTD $ aren't the same thing
