49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

Two, Shanahan seen Brock Purdy every day in training camp to come to his own conclusion, this isn't Madden.

Kyle gets credit for Purdy, even if there is luck involved. Same way Belichick gets credit for Brady and Walsh for Montana. Hell, there's even luck with Mahomes. If fat Andy truly knew how great Mahomes would be, he woulda moved even higher to get him.

Andy wanted Paxton Lynch instead
I'm going to go out on a huge limb here:

If Kyle has another f up in the SB (or title game) which leads to a loss, he is gone. And Belichick is in.

He could go 19-0. I'd still have zero confidence in him headed into the SB.

Ironically enough, Denver unintentionally screwed up on two fronts.

A) They jumped KC to go get Lynch. Then Lynch bombed out.

B) That left KC searching for a new franchise QB. Thus, they move up for Mahomes in 2017.

If KC gets Lynch, they probably give him a few years. Meaning they don't draft Mahomes.

19-0 is just inviting a loss. I'd much rather be 18-1 going into the SB.

As for going with Belichick... the dude is 72. Which means you're already looking for his replacement the day you hire him. And if there's anything that has been proven over the years it's that Belichick has a really bad coaching tree when his guys get HC jobs.

Really? Damn I didn't know that

Point is...I don't care what he does during the season. It's irrelevant.

I highly doubt he survives another questionable SB coaching performance. Would you agree?

Good job he & Lynch did passing on Mahomes in 2017 too. That cost us two rings. This team is dominating the NFC with Mahomes.

Yep...Denver jumped KC because they were worried he would go there. Instead, it created a chain of events that will leave Denver in hell for another 10 years or so.

You think he survives if he bungles another SB? How many chances should he get?
I recommend that people try to watch as many games this weekend as you can and you will probally come away much more appreciated for Kyle. Hell, Just watching that Eagles/Packers game will make you appreciate Kyle more.

If Belichick is HC in that SB, the 49ers have 6 SB trophies. I don't care if he was 80, let alone 72, that game is over.

Nobody doubts his brilliance...during the regular season. But the regular season is pretty meaningless for a team like the 49ers.

I'll judge Kyle from game one on. I'll watch as always.

No.

It would be like me wanting to trade/cut McCaffrey for his fumble in the SB. If anything lost the game, IMO, it was not being able to get points on a dominant opening drive. It set the tone of being vulnerable. But thinking only of that play would be short sighted and foolish.

There's no guarantee Mahomes is even any good in SF if forced to start on that team. Would Montana had been any good on the Lions or Saints in the early 80s? This isn't a one player flip of fate. Is Mahomes is 0-4 in the Super Bowl instead of 3-1 without Chris Jones? Possibly. Steve Young on the Bucs is probably the more likely outcome for Mahomes if he goes to a worse team than KC. Kyle probably gets more out of him, but maybe because of necessity Mahomes relies on running far more on SF in 2017 and leans into bad habits. These are sliding doors that are impossible to predict.

Because Belichick did so well against Spags' defense in 2007 and 2011. Oh wait, he lost.
