There's a fatal flaw in that logic: Shanny expressly avoids QB's that don't play within the his scheme inside the pocket. So what he needs is a generational pocket passing QB. Not sure they make them anymore.
He spent 3 1st round picks on a guy with the promise that he could not only play within the system but make plays out of it.
The guy just wasn't a good player.
There's no doubt executing the scheme is priority number one. That said, there's really nothing substantive to support that he wants a QB to only execute his system other than he's never coached a QB who was great at executing his scheme and had the capability to play outside of it. Brock is the best example. Does Shanny seem unhappy at this point?
