He spent 3 1st round picks on a guy with the promise that he could not only play within the system but make plays out of it.

The guy just wasn't a good player.

There's no doubt executing the scheme is priority number one. That said, there's really nothing substantive to support that he wants a QB to only execute his system other than he's never coached a QB who was great at executing his scheme and had the capability to play outside of it. Brock is the best example. Does Shanny seem unhappy at this point?

The whole league is using Kyles scheme. And they are using it to pass him up. My biggest fear is that Kyle won't learn his "Andy Reid" lesson until he's fired, then go to the next team and win the SB.

The only way Kyle wins a Super Bowl is if he, like Reid, finds himself a generational quarterback that plays the game OUTSIDE of the box that Kyle draws up for him. Reid had McNabb who was more than a serviceable quarterback in Philadelphia. But Reid couldn't get out of his own way, and with a QB limited to playing within the scopes of his offensive scheme, he couldn't win the big game. That is until he found Mahomes who plays unorthodox, using Reid's WCO scheme and incorporating his own mobility / prowess into play.

Shanahan failed with Matt Ryan. He failed with Jimmy. He failed with Brock. Those are all "systems" QBs that play with the scheme Shanahan has put forth for them. He can't win that way.

Fire him and let him go to another cellar dweller. Maybe he'll be smart enough to choose a good QB early instead of throwing a dart in round 7 at the last pick and landing on a prayer.

You mean like Purdy? Who can do both? Pretty sure we have one.

Thats the league now if you want to be successful and win rings. The running QBs like Jackson, Allen, Hurts, great for regular season games, but not good enough against top defenses in the playoffs. The pure pocket passers can't improvise on their own, and with the lack of good OL in the league compared to DL, even guys like Burrow gonna struggle winning it all.

So you need best of both worlds + the high football IQ. Pat has all 3, and there's no one else close to him. Purdy could be the next best thing though, we just need to give a better OL.

CJ Stroud?

Purdy could be that, eventually, depending on how much he's willing to work for it.
This guy just needs the perfect team, perfect without injuries, all the breaks to fall his way. Even then he can't win. You just can't win with him. He needs too much perfection. Time to move on from him.

If greenlaw's achilles didn't explode in the superbowl, Kyle is probably wearing a big ass ring today

BEST yet, had he called 2 more run play for CMC to get a 1st down and a TD, we woulda won the Super Bowl....then KYLE will still be under the same situation he is NOW...

That's how sorry he is..

the point of my post was, IMO, there probably wouldn't have even been an overtime if Greenlaw doesn't get hurt. Kelce wasn't doing anything before, and when Greenlaw went out, KC targeted Oren Burks who had no chance.
Eight playoff wins and four NFC Championship appearances in the last five seasons and we're talking about moving on from him for a total wild card coach that might not even get us to a winning record.

This fanbase is a bunch of spoiled brats. Y'all are exactly the reason we lost Harbaugh and had to suffer through the total suckage of Tomsula and Kelly.

Whatever we think, Kyle Shanahan and his coaching staff are not doing their job. It's blatantly obvious you have a depoy who is ranked 18th in sacks. We have a defensive line that has a nonexistent pass rush. Our best defensive lineman right now is Malik Collins. He sheds blockers like no other. I saw him throw three guys to the ground in one play. Nobody on our line is doing that. We don't have time for Sorenson to figure out how to motivate elite players to be elite. Ward right now is trash and normally he's somewhere around the top five maybe top seven. Our safeties can't cover anything. Even Mooney Ward said I know what the problem is, but I'm not gonna talk about it. it's not execution. It's planning it's coaching it's motivating.

I don't understand why you think it's so wildcard. Bellicheats right there for the taking. You can't get more proven track record than his.

Or we can just assume he's washed like we did with Brady... We all saw how that turned out ...

Trade Kyle. You'd get 2 firsts and 2 seconds from some dumb team like the raiders. Give bellicheats the reigns and we'd be back in the SB easy.

We moved on from harbaugh because he hitched his wagon to a gimmick in Kaepernick and refused to change. The thing is this time it's different because brocks actually good and similar to Brady.

We aren't losing because our QB sucks that our coach handpicked. Hell if we had done the same thing as harbaugh they all should have been fired with Lance.

Even worse than harbaugh and kapernick. Make no mistake Brock has already bought them overdue time.
