They signed a couple of good centers who were past their prime but serviceable for a year or two. They can't use a 1st or 2nd round pick every year if there isn't anyone worth drafting late in the round. The line isn't good right now at pass blocking. I'm sure they realize that and are hoping a couple of guys might improve. If they continue to struggle all year I'm sure they'll try to address it in the off season. If they go deep into the playoffs again they aren't going to have a shot at any of the top guys so their best bet might be free agency.

Lets see if you can win this one Shanahan. I know he likely can't in the Super Bowl. But can he win even 1 time against Andy Reid, Mahomes and the Chiefs? I would kind of be impressed with even 1 regular season win. Not sure he can do it or not.

what unit is faltering.. well OL isn't what failed us in the last 2 SBs.

It was QB play in 2019 and turnovers on offense and STs in 23. The Chiefs OL isn't what beat us in those games either

as for this year, Purdy is tied with the most avg time to throw from snap to throw/pressured

Completely agree. And those big moments in big games are killers...we've seen it in the playoffs. This past draft, Puni is looking like a very good pick but was really hoping for one more or maybe two OL picks to provide competition at C and RT, Brendel and McKivitiz, considering the OL talent that was available in this draft.

Right now, just hoping for the best. Hoping Brendel can step up against better teams, better DLs. Same with McKivitz...his run blocking seems to have improved but want to see him get better at protecting Purdy in the passing game, again especially against better teams/better talent.

The wild card is Feliciano if he can get healthy - thought I heard he might be back midseason. Would like to see him provide competition for Brendel at C.

The more chances he has with a top QB the better. Only had one shot at Andy so far with that.

if we had better QB play in the second half of 2019, Chris jones isn't a factor

We don't turn the ball over in 23, CJ isn't a factor.

There are a lot of things that contributed to the losses, but only remembering the last play doesn't make it the only reason we lost.

CJ was a factor because of the OL. The poor OL play contributed to the poor QB play in '19. Are they the only reason we lost? No, never said that.

CJ was a factor because of the OL. The poor OL play contributed to the poor QB play in '19. Are they the only reason we lost? No, never said that.

yeah but you are only remembering the very few last plays... our OL got us the lead and helped hold it pretty much the entire game both times. they weren't being dominated from the start like you are implying or we would have been blown out.
