I'm sure Kyle knows how to play against man defense. KC disguses their defense enough to keep the offense guessing. Even if they played it on every down, Kyle might feel he doesn't have the personnel to beat it. Certainly after Aiyuk got injured they didn't have a lot of options. He isn't good against man anyway. Same for Deebo. The best is Jennings and he's out. Cowings is fast but small and still learning. Pearsall is still getting into playing shape.

The key to beating KC has always been running the ball, something the 9ers could never do vs them. Shanahan needs to get creative doing that and get back to motioning the hell outta the defense. Run the ball on their defense and keep Mahomes off the field, you'll win the game. Keep trying to beat man coverage like Spags wants you to, and you'll play right into his hands.

You can't run when you got Chris Jones blowing up every single o lineman at will except TW. They need better IOL to run the ball against good teams

You can run, you just gotta mix it up with Mason and Guerendo, motion, bait and switch. Get creative, of course you can't run it if they know Mason is in all the frickin time, he's not CMC where you can motion him out wide. Everything looks so dumbed down now and transparent. Any they gotta do something different out there instead of freezing up because Reid and Spags is calling plays from the other sideline, keep those f**kers guessing.

It's not just man coverage though. What was one of the biggest gripes when Jimmy G was starting QB ? That the offense was only using the middle of the field. We weren't using the sidelines effectively, and team knew to just squeeze the box and the opportunities would up. Five years later…same problem. Teams are squeezing in the middle and packing the box. Unfortunately Brock doesn't have a rocket for an arm, so if he doesn't recognize a deep pass fast enough chances are the receiver will outrun the depth of his pass (we saw that twice vs KC). Kyle has done nothing to solve these problems. Teams know how to beat man with rub routes, crossing routes, designed QB draws. Kyle's vanilla offense is just simply running your route and getting open.

If there was a move to be made this would have been a great addition to the staff.

I like how GB is using him. Lafleur played his cards perfectly. He's not making him a defensive consultant because he doesn't want to mess with the mojo of his defensive staff, but he wants to use Saleh to game plan against the opponent's defenses.

How smart. Meanwhile Kyle got rid of Fangio and Wilks because he didn't "like" their schemes which he thought (because he's such a defensive guru) would require too much scheme change on that side of the ball.

what a clown

You act like Brandon Stely is just some chump who can't game plan either.

Some people are clowns.

Still waiting to see the fruits of his labor. But knowing Kyle's tendencies to butt in, I can imagine he limits how much say Staley has in the defensive game plan.

Watching the all 22, Shanny adjusted. he changed the blocking, he stopped trying to fight for constant in side releases, he called some different stuff

There was stuff on this all-22 we don't see week in and week out. It was not the same old stuff..

Truth is Brock missed some things, the WRs missed some things, and the blockers missed some things.

RBs made bad run choices, Blockers jacked up blocks...

There is a ton of blame to go around

There was 3 or 4 walk away TDs that were simply missed

That game was closer to being a 30+ point 49er game then it might seem...a few more in time throws on the deep passes, a wr does not slip down or Brock seeing a RB alone with no one in front of him and Brock has 4 TDs in that game.

It was a terrible loss, but there was opportunities...
Shanny didn't adjust too much..

And the adjustments he made were late.

But yeah, Brock Purdy's passing was horrid.
Watching the Vikes and The Lambs now and I see some very damn good play calling and design in the RZ for both teams and yet the 9ers look like the keystone cops when they get to the RZ,this is on KYLE, NO CREATIVITY none whatsoever I think McVey is a better play caller then Stubborn Kyle He refuses to sat RB Bozo Bell on the freaking bench injuries has forced him to play Cowing on offense causes Kyle wants the rookie to know everything without playing and looking at the Lambs they were forced to play rookies wrs and they did good against the 9ers...coaching matters especially when you don`t have a ego-minded stubborn coach/oc
