Got to love the attention to detail.

Shanahan pop quiz question to scouts:

Which one does not belong?

A) Natural thrower
B) Pocket presence
C) Quick decisions and progression
D) Pull it down and run, lives on unscheduled throws

I love how dude was like "Teams kept calling me but I kept telling them no", like an over the hill receiver with attitude problems is so heavily in demand.

He's like T.O., talented but over-dramatic. He should blame the defense for collapsing more than anything.

Agree and I'm NOT a TO fan -

But, TO had tons more talent, produced way more and RW couldn't carry TO's shoes.
Why is no one blaming Quinn? Isn't he the HC? Why didn't the defense stop them from scoring when Quinn was hired for his defensive prowess?
Cris Carter took Roddy White down a peg:

"See, this is what I don't like about former players, because they keep their mindset as players. They never want to criticize their teammates. There was a bunch of missed assignments. When someone tells you to do something… none of the plays are good if you don't block, you don't catch, you don't throw. If you don't do your job, every play that they designed is not a good play.

So even if [Shanahan] had called a safe play, when guys are getting defeated - when you break down your principles - people don't bring those things into account.

Roddy White, your last year, playing in Atlanta, you averaged 21 points a game. You guys were 21st in the league. Now Kyle Shanahan was the offensive coordinator. This year they went up to 33 points, 8th all-time in scoring. So, what part are you going to give him credit [for]? Now, I know what part you're going to blame him, but which part are you going to give him credit?"

Loving hearing that Shanahan & Lynch giving scouts detailed descriptions of what they want in players at each position
Was already very happy with the Shanahan hire...even more impressed after hearing him earlier this morning on the KNBR Murph and Mac show. He may be 37 but you can just tell by listening to him he's well beyond his age in football knowledge and just in understanding the task ahead and how important it is to have a collaborative & strong working relationship with Lynch and others in the personnel dept. along w/ his coaching staff. You hear him talk and what comes out is he realizes he doesn't know it all...he's going to rely on what he knows and what others around him know (within the organization and his connections outside + his dad). Just hearing him this morning - he spoke for what seemed like 30 min - got me even more fired up! Looking forward to the weeks ahead in FA, the draft, and beyond.

Yes, much better than long arms and busted up knees as a prerequisite.
One segment from his KMVR talk this AM.

"If there is a quarterback there that we believe can match that criteria and we believe he can be a franchise quarterback for us, of course, you don't hesitate on that," Shanahan said. "But if you don't see that and there are other good players – if there's a pass-rusher, a linebacker, if there's an O-lineman, whatever it is – you need to get the best player possible who can help your team for the next 10 years.

"The worst mistake you can make is you take a guy who isn't that good of a player or not worthy of that and the expectations change. You put a guy in a position that is really unfair to him and you set your organization back and then you try to commit to a guy who really, it's unfair to him because he shouldn't have been put in that position. You have to study these guys hard. "

This gives me more confidence in what direction our team is heading now, (up). Amazing what a well articulated statement about their vision does. Add to that the common sense and logic of their approach to this rebuilding prodject and it becomes very refreshing and hopefull that we are on the right path this time. Of, course we will see, but it's a great start lMO.

My favorite part of the interview was when Kyle said he listens to reggae or rap while he watches film, and Murph said "reggae and rap, just like Bill Walsh!"
