49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

Got CMC back but the red zone offense was still bad this game. I can't tell what's wrong. It took Brock and Kittle doing amazing stuff to finally score in the red zone. Kyle needs to figure this part out, it's his area. With CMC back, RZ offense needs to be top 10 from here on.

Absolutely 💯. If Shanahan can't figure it out then he needs to ask for help.

The red zone offense was garbage, but the overall offense was a lot better with CMC out there. You have to give Kyle more time to adjust back to CMC. It's been 1 game and he was limited-ish

It's quite apparent actually. Even Brady called it out during the game. For whatever reason, the team keeps playing for the home run pass even in the red zone. Instead of going for the short and easy passes so that the team gets closer to the goal line. Brady said the obvious. Just pass to it CMC short and let him do his thing. We used to do that a lot. But now, Brock treats the redzone the same way he treats the in between the 20s. Except in the redzone you run out of real estate so you can't stretch the field and teams can squeeze you in. Have to go back to what we did in previous years. Short passes —- rely on YAC. Home run balls will occasionally get you on the highlight reel eg Kittle TD, but higher chance you'll fail and put the game on Kyle's / Moody's shoulder, which is a loss…
I'd like to see Shanahan start using Cowing on End Arounds.

Deebo seems very slow and tentative when he's running around the corner.

The point of an end around is to get to the corner as quickly as possible isn't it?
The 49ers have every marking of a poorly coached team. Poorly coached teams never make adjustments to fix their mistakes.

1. Pass pro scheme continues to be a major problem. And it starts with Kyle's philosophy with hot reads. Except that hot reads on 3rd and long lead to 4th down.

2. Continuous miscues on specials now fall on the lap of the head coach. He is letting the failure happen. Scheme and personnel. Nothing has been done to attempt to fix the problem.

3. End of half and game timeout/clock management is poor year after year.

4. 3rd down issues on defense. Continuous.

And yet they keep winning more then losing. Something poorly coached teams usually don't accomplish.

They are winning more than losing because of the talent on the field. Do you seriously think this should be a 5-4 football team?

The team in under-performing expectations.

A lot of that talent has been hurt this year. So based on who has been on the field. Yes they should be a 5-4 team.

They lost to a banged up Rams team that had more injuries than them that week.
They almost lost to a Tampa team yesterday that was missing its starting LT, top two WRs, and Baker was banged up.
The injury thing has been overblown. They have had one of their best draft classes in years to supplement depth and the guys who have filled in for the injured players (Mason, Ricky, etc) have done a good job.
Let's be clear, don't want the guy gone yet but his divaness or is it hardheadedness needs a readjust. I still say and will say until we win a SB he needs an OC and not be a control freak.

Hes over extended and it shows. Special Teams says hello.

This isn't college football. You don't get any less credit for the win if its a close game. A wins a win.

They are not 5-4 because of Injuries. That's a lame excuse. They are 5-4 because of poor coaching and poor decision making.

Just as you don't get to cite injuries as an excuse when the team loses. Especially when the team has plenty of talent and depth to compensate.

They played down to their opponent yesterday. And this wasn't the first time they've done it. That's on the coaching.

Jcool I respect your opinion and I appreciate you not breaking forum rules to backup your opinion.
