not that there's any push, it's the type of runs called. the defense doesn't have to think, they just stuff the middle.

Well that is def a valid point, but I didn't want to give the Dr too much ammunition

Certainly an improved o-line would simply help. I saw Banks and Brendel get destroyed a few times yesterday and its incredibly frustrating.

They almost lost to a Tampa team yesterday that was missing its starting LT, top two WRs, and Baker was banged up.
The injury thing has been overblown. They have had one of their best draft classes in years to supplement depth and the guys who have filled in for the injured players (Mason, Ricky, etc) have done a good job.

This isn't college football. You don't get any less credit for the win if its a close game. A wins a win.

Just as you don't get to cite injuries as an excuse when the team loses. Especially when the team has plenty of talent and depth to compensate.

They played down to their opponent yesterday. And this wasn't the first time they've done it. That's on the coaching.

Let me jump in this, but there is a lot of talent on this team due to coaching. Did you think George Kittle became the superstar overnight after being a 5th round pick? Jimmy G., looked like an Pro Bowl QB under Shanahan, after his journey with the 49ers, he's nothing but a back up in the NFL. I think the only player the 9ers drafted that became a super start overnight is Nick Bosa.

The 49ers missed three FG's yesterday, which would've given the team a huge cushion for a win. The Special Teams yesterday made a ton of mistakes, I agree that was on the ST coach/coaching. Sure the offense had some struggles, but overall they were the reason the 9ers were still in this game. As for the defense, again, coaching, Nick Sorensen has to go. The defense has been a problem for this team this whole season, regardless if it's a win or a loss, something needs to be done.

I wanted to be mad at Sorensen yesterday, but we allowed only 215 total yards. That's despite the fact that Bosa wasn't effective while hurt, Ward was out, and Green had to leave the game too.

The only reason that game was even close was special teams. Tampa had crazy starting field position almost all game due to our special teams gaffes.

Luter gifted Tampa 7 points.
Moody left 9 points off the board. Without those mistakes, we would've blown them out probably 29-10. Schneider needs to go. If guys keep making the same mistakes, he's clearly not coaching them right.
Does this apply to all coaches?

lol got em. The hypocrisy is evident. Hold all players and coaches accountable except the guy that's in charge of them all. He's never at fault 😂
opinions are not facts..

His coaching staff has been pillaged over the past few seasons and it takes few weeks to get those new coaches up to speed. Once again he's dealing with another rookie DC. From the list below, Kubiak and Sorensen have new titles. The others are new to the team.

  • Cameron Clemmons - Assistant Offensive Line
  • Klay Kubiak* - Offensive Passing Game Specialist
  • Mick Lombardi - Senior Offensive Assistant
  • Nick Sorensen* - Defensive Coordinator
  • Brandon Staley - Assistant Head Coach/Defense
  • K.J. Wright - Defensive Quality Control

I can't disagree with you that player development has been the strength of the Shanahan staffs. There's enough late round/UDFA evidence of that.

But in terms of scheme, consistent issues are rearing it's head week after week. When its constantly happening, it's the head coach's responsibility.

Again
1) ST mistakes/coaching
2) protection issues
3) red zone issues/predictability
4) end of half clock management
5) 3rd down defense

All are problems game after game. The head coach is responsible for all of it.

They are winning more than losing because of the talent on the field. Do you seriously think this should be a 5-4 football team?

The team in under-performing expectations.

A lot of that talent has been hurt this year. So based on who has been on the field. Yes they should be a 5-4 team.

They are not 5-4 because of Injuries. That's a lame excuse. They are 5-4 because of poor coaching and poor decision making.

When it comes to the STs what is Kyle supposed to do outside of making a better hire? He can't coach Moody on foot placement on placekicks, or whatever it was that went wrong on those missed field goals. Luter is either deaf or dumb. Deaf because he can't hear the returner telling him get out of the area, or dumb to not realize he's getting blocked into the returner. He's the new Kyle Williams without even being the returner.

Well, he has a say in coaching. So that's one. If the coaching is supbar then Schneider needs to be gone. Again, that's Kyle's responsibility.

If its personnel, then I also believe that's partially Kyle's responsibility because of the say and relationship that he has with the GM. If Moody stinks, that's also his responsibility.

Situational stuff falls under him too. When the idiot punter doesn't kick the punt out of bounds at the end of the LA game, that's on Kyle. That is situational football 101. Or maybe they told Wish to kick it out of bounds and he didn't. Well that's a personnel thing that falls at his feet too.

IMHO I believe that the Oline is the problem as well however Shanny is sipping this year on play calling. Will he get better I hope so. The OL has needed an upgrade for 3 years. Maybe with Feliciano starting at center we will be better. McKivitz is still there so we may need Kittle to help him which takes him out of the passing plays. He is too good out there to hold him back in coverage.

At the EOY we go to a new o line coach and focus on the draft for OL help. It is killing us and has been for years.

Fans love to blame the HC but he isn't the one coaching the players. The O line coach coaches the O line. D line coach the D line. And so on. The HC is responsible for hiring those coaches but he isn't on the field coaching them. The HC oversees the total picture. He may see things he doesn't like and talk to the individual coach. He isn't likely to fire coaches in the middle of the season. Organizational skills are key for successful head coaches. Some like Kyle like to be their own OC. That's fine if they can handle that along with the overall job. If Kyle has a weakness it's not adjusting well in the 2nd half. He must be doing something right since half the league now runs some varition of his offense and his coaches keep getting hired by other teams.

while OL isn't the top position in team strength, it isn't the main issue. We've made it to 4 NFCCG and 2 SBs without having a top OL.

The OL is getting better year by year and Brock has the highest TTT.

I think Brock's hesitancy and RZ running plays are slowing us down.

He changes absolutely nothing. He's the most pig headed coach I've seen. There are much better offensive coaches out there.
