It's amazing how bad of a situational play caller he is.
12 seconds left and a timeout…plenty of time to try to hit a deep shot or maybe draw a PI.
instead we try a play that could have been called as the last play

Nope, he doesn't.
he sucks, would he bring the best OL with him? st brown? j williams? la porta? two stud backs? and on it goes..
it's like daboll, he looked good with Josh Allen. he didn't get to take Allen to NYG and he sucks.
He calls plays for f**king Jared Goff FFS.
It's not like he has a stud at QB.
Put Purdy behind the Lions OL and he'd be pretty awesome.
Johnson is gonna be a HC next year but it won't be in SF.
Not with this play calling. Leagues caught on and it's unfortunately time to really think about who's next.

Hey look it's 49erFaithful6
How's that crow taste?
what's your deal?
Lol you think Ben Johnson sucks
he sucks. i hate when ppl prop up a coordinator cuz he has great players. nolan looked good watching ray lewis do his thing. detroit has a ton of great o players. johnson doesn't do anything.
Lol yeah, you know this for certain, right? He doesn't call the plays or come up with the scheme, right? He has nothing to do with the team putting up 50+, clearly.
His QB is Jared Goff, for god's sake, and they are putting together a historic season on offense. You sound like the most uneducated football fan I've ever encountered

Johnson would have to work with this OL, so it's no guarantee he'd be able to do what he's done in Detroit.
Improve the SF OL to be more like the Lions OL and he'd probably do quite well in SF, sure.

I just went back and looked at that play in slow motion - #91 had his hand in the air right in front of Purdy. If he had thrown it lower, it looked like it would be batted down. IDK If BP had tried to lead him, the chances of being blocked would be higher.
Hmm on replay it looked like he his arm was already coming forward before the hand went up. My mistake
I'd like to hear your explanation as to why this loss isn't on Shanahan.
Some of it is, however, injuries and penalties were the killer. We will recover some when Bosa heals but Aiyuk will hurt until he returns. We have no way to replace what he does.

Did you miss those onside kicks this season ? Kyle gets dazed when it's put up or shut up.

Shanahan isn't getting fired this offseason, and Johnson is getting hired elsewhere. Best to accept that.

This times 1000. He was always just an OC and schemer and never a head coach and now he's not only regressed as an OC but has become one of the worst in the league. We're watching a Greg Roman offense.
First and 10 and we've been shut down each time we run it in this situation? Run it again.
definition of madness. I'd rather watch em struggle with someone else than watch this loser who will never bring them anywhere. Lost his mojo and is now the biggest thing holding the team back

the people that gripe about KS being an OC and not a HC want another unproven OC.
I think the calls to fire KS are idiotic based on his body of work.
He has had a bad year this year no question though.
I don't know where I lie truthfully. I'm certainly France here but it does look he can't get over the hump dating back further than the 9ers. I can understand some of feelings. Is it okay, 8 or 9 years in, is it time for a refresh. And don't kid yourself, a refresh might help him immensely. It may not be until his second stint to get there.
I have always said if he stays, assign a true OC but he will never allow that.
There should be frustration at a minimum no matter your side.

Even on our last drive before that. Still can't believe Pearsall didn't get one play called. Would have also liked to try a 60 yard FG and go up by 7, especially with Bosa gone.

60% of the league is running the same or similar offense. The rest are floundering in the mud.
