Looks like Shanny figured out the best way not to blow a lead in the superbowl is not to get there
All we need to do is make adjustments (the league has us figured out), stop making bad decisions in the draft and in general with regards to our personnel because it's killing us. There was a lot to obscure the issues caused by mistakes in the past, but there is nothing to cover their issues any longer, the roster limitations have been laid bare for all to see. Adjust and get better.

Yes—now he just blows leads in the regular season

St Brown kills zone coverage, Williams has too much speed vs man, Gibbs is electric, Montgomery is one of the most physical backs and it's probably the top OL in the game. if he becomes HC it's a lot more responsibility and probably a team without much talent, so he will struggle. Lions have crazy talent, it's not hard to coach those guys.
Lions will likely be let down by Goff when it matters most. Despite the talent elsewhere.

i just hate when a guy holding a clipboard gets all the credit from fans. if you want to praise Detroit for some reason, i'd applaud whoever is make the personnel moves, which is not Johnson. how do you build a best in league OL, and maybe best WR room, RB room and credit the OC? some ppl don't know i guess..

That's Shanahan there smart guy
The only bright spot of firing Kyle Shanahan is that we'll free up our Sundays for the next decade and no longer waste time on here with braindead fans since football will become once again irrelevant in the Bay Area. To be honest, that doesn't sound too bad

Watch a motivator for a HC tonight on NBC. Harbaugh is a great motivator.

Bingo

CMC - paid, commercials, and injuries
Aiyuk - paid, physically unprepared to play the season, injured
Trent - paid, physically unprepared to start the season, banged up
Deebo - paid, podcast, stinks, always banged up
Bosa - paid, politics, got hurt in practice

Put Purdy behind the Lions OL and he'd be pretty awesome.

Johnson is gonna be a HC next year but it won't be in SF.

probably go to NYJ and be terrible

Your responses are like your game predictions.

we can bookmark and see how Johnson does. he's gonna suck as HC. many OCs with a ton of talent look good, then go to bad teams, without talent, and they suck.

Do you listen to yourself talk? You're a walking contradiction.

I think Shanny made some significant scheme adjustments in the offseason then very quickly figured out it wouldn't work with our crappy OL, which is why after a few games you saw us shift to a more traditional game plan

I'm ashamed right now that I watched that game. The future is now my friend.
There's this weird perception that changing the coach can't make a huge swing on the teams performance.

The chargers went 5-12 last year and are about to be 7-3 with harbaugh in his first year.

This teams not a SB contender this year and needs another good draft and a new coach to get there next year...

I would be curious for those still on the shanahan wagon what exactly they think the team needs to win a SB... I really just am not seeing it in the next 5 years..

It looks like all of the creativity is gone on both sides of the ball. We look very average...

There's also a weird perception that we're a new head coach away from SB without acknowledging how pear shaped it can go very quickly.

Truth is, any change is a gamble, but staying still can have the same result and nobody really knows where a path will lead until it's taken.

As for your question on the Shanahan wagon. I think we need our rookie class this year to combine with a good rookie class next year to have a shot.

I've pretty much had enough of our OL, if it's basically the same next year I'll be hanging around the back of the wagon looking at some greener grass.

However, aside from the usual elements of luck (injuries/refs/freak plays etc) a revamped OL and good draft will still have us as one of the best rosters in the league.

The way I understand it this franchise is doomed unless Shannahan coaches here forever.
