I've lost track of how many posts want to fire Kyle but I haven't seen any with a realistic suggestion of who could replace him. Firing a coach without a plan of who to replace him with is a recipe for disaster.

Can't wait until we let him walk and he continues to be really good wherever he goes and will eventually win a SB while we enjoy our miserable 7-9 seasons with whatever shot in the dark coach we hire because everyone here thinks that any coach can just come in an win titles lol. Yet everyone will rejoice with chants of "Good Riddance!"...just to be followed by "wow, I really miss those Shanahan years when we were contenders every year".
Everyone thinks that the Bill Walsh championship years are our given birth rights and not optional lol. "That's our standard! Anyone can do it". Show of hands, how many Dodgers fans here that wanted Roberts fired?
Shanahan has made us a competitive contending team almost since the day he got here. Winning the title is incredibly hard and takes as much luck/fortune as it does talent. Yet he gets blamed for losing to an absolute Dynasty and maybe the best QB to ever play when we have been within a play of victory against those teams. He gets blamed for our returners muffing punts, our defenders dropping wide open interceptions, our lineman misreading the play design and blocking the wrong guy and the refs not calling any holding calls against Bosa.
So I guess, just fire him.
Ever think about the Harbaugh years ? How many times in your life have you wondered "boy, I sure do miss all that success we had with Jim Harbaugh". I'm guessing zero. You know why ? Because he didn't win a Super Bowl. He's an afterthought. Just like Steve Mariucci and all those successful Super Bowl-less seasons.
Kyle Shanahan has not won a Super Bowl. Only his cult like followers will miss him. Just like the Alex Smith fans cried for a couple years after we sent him packing.
and no realistic fan expects a Super Bowl ring right after Kyle walks. There's a rebuild process involved. I don't recall any Niner fans asking for Kyle's head in his first two seasons as coach. We all knew it will take time for the new coach to implement his system.
so yea…Kyle can walk and make some other franchise and its fans miserable for the next decade. And you know what ? I'm sure teams like Cleveland or Carolina or Jacksonville would appreciate that. Their fans haven't even sniffed a Superbowl, so I'm sure multiple Superbowl losses would likely land Shanahan in their stadium's ring of honor. But not here. We expect rings, not silver medal banners.
good riddance

lists have been posted ad nauseum. you need to rephrase your post. You haven't seen any posts with a realistic suggestion that YOU APPROVE OF. And multiple posters have given viable options, just to have the poster asking for the list attack the choices for bogus reasons (unproven, too old, failed in a previous lifetime, etc.)

If it happens a lot then it becomes a trend and it's on the coaching, and if he's the head coach, well, what can you say.
You don't get it. While most coaches in the league are responsible for what actually happens in the field and what players they have and how they play, Kyle is only responsible for the theoretical world where his players execute all of his plays perfectly.
He is only responsible for when a play doesn't work due to him drawing up a bad play not if he has the wrong personnel to execute the play or the players don't execute it properly.
See your expecting him to be responsible in the real world where most of shanahans fans only expect him to be responsible for the imaginary world where his plays are executed perfectly by a team of all pros.
Kyles not responsible for the players he has, the coaches he has, or their execution and what that actually looks like...
It's all these bums he has to work with that keep Kyle from greatness. The crap coaches and players just bog him down from winning a SB every year. Everyone else is just dragging him down.

I said realistic options. Spags isn't about to leave KC. He's had chances but prefers to be DC. Belichick was a terrible coach at Cleveland and after Brady left. He's 72. Not a good option. Is Ben Johnson really that good or is it because they have the best O line and best group of young offensive weapons in the league. Coordinators are a crapshoot. Throwing out names that have little or no chance of happening isn't realistic.
Kyle has 3 more years on his contract at about $10 million per year. Would they be willing to eat that much? I don't know. Another thing is what happens with Lynch? Would they fire him too since they kind of came as a package.

I have only seen you posting this list and its awful besides Ben Johnson who is going to have much better options then an aging 49ers roster with a B level QB needing to get paid.

FWIW Belichick was really good in Cleveland.

Spags does want to coach. The only reason he flies under the radar is because KC doesn't have the same market as places like SF or NY. Also bc the NFL world is convinced that KC is all about Mahomes and Reid. Why is it that guys like Saleh and Demeco get poached from our team after coaching for 2-3 years, meanwhile a 3 time SB winning coach doesn't ? And yes he was an awful head coach with the Giants, but this is the same guy that prevented the Patriots from having a perfect season. Kreug said it best and I agree with him…if Belichick is in our radar why not poach from the team that wins Super Bowls every year ?
Ben Johnson is unproven but that's the risk you take with an unproven commodity. We did it with Kyle and look….no SB wins to boot.

Very good point. This roster is old and may be heading for salary cap problems. Anyone that would be willing to come here would need to rebuild which could be a 2 or 3 year project. Ben Johnson's success is directly connected with all the talent that Detroit has amassed in the last 3 seasons. If Kyle had that O line and those receivers and backs the offense would be humming. They run an offense that's basically the same as the 49ers but they have younger and faster backs and receivers with a young version of Trent Williams in Sewell.

One winning season out of 5. He won one playoff game. Would that be acceptable in SF?

People keep making the same suggestions without realistic options. Belichick is too old to come in and rebuild a team. Spags is 64 so if he wants to be a HC he better get his name in the ring. The trend in the NFL is hiring young coaches.
I'm not defending Kyle as much as I'm saying be careful what you wish for. We f****d up when we fired Harbaugh in favor of keeping Balke. The fan base is fed up with making the playoffs and not winning the SB. Would they be willing to go through a few years of sub .500 football again?
