i don't wonder about that. we got beat.
Due to some ref influence

Will blame the refs.
Won't blame the head coach.

wow

Tell me are you allowed to call two timeouts in a row?

No you're not. I'm not saying refs are infallible, but to me the more concerning stat is:

118th out of 125. That's damning.
Not sure why that doesn't irk some of you

If we have to rely on a single ref call to win a game we have greater issues. How bout we get better on offense and score more points. The ref whining each week is insane.

Who says we have to rely on calls, we're talking about the fact that a back to back timeout was allowed. Aren't you whining all the same coming in here whining about scoring more points?

No, he's right. Blaming the refs for a single call when we could've ended this game multiple times in the second half sounds like whining from a Shanafan. It's a garbage take, quite frankly.

Shhhh no one said you could talk. Sit your ass down.

Careful, these guys are very soft in here and go cry to the mods

Some of us have jobs. Got bigger things to worry about than internet bullies

Don't you do the same thing in the PL?

Awesome stuff, Thanks Hero.

I think Kyle has the right approach of keeping it simple for a qb new to his system, but I also think once he finds a QB he thinks is actually good and capable (Purdy imo) he should evolve/change the offense rapidly to have him adjust protections vs just having a hot route. It is basically what he alluded to in that clip they played.

I think it caught up to Kyle faster than he imagined, and he needs to adapt. To me it's fairly obvious after 10 games that DC's are saying whenever we have this team in a 3rd and most likely passing situation just blitz while also trying to take away the obvious hot route or keeping it in front of the sticks etc. Again, I also think the o-line having better talent would also make up for a lot of this since we wouldn't be in the situation as often.

Side question, I believe Walsh with Montana under the OG west coast offense, he mostly had him adjust protections, correct?

Simply put, once you have a QB you believe and know can do it, it should be him adjusting protections and constantly countering and attacking the defense vs letting them dictate what you do.

No problem and good post. I guess we'll find out how much Shanny truly trusts Brock because I can't imagine all of this hasn't crossed his mind. I also don't think putting a little bit more on Brock's plate is going to overwhelm him. I like Ted's thinking that Shanny doesn't need rehaul the entire philosophy, but he should begin to work on situational adjustments for those critical moments that have been backbreakers for the Niners this year. Start there and add on if it's working well. I wish we could see what they're working on(or not) in practice because it all starts there.

btw isn't it funny that we're all talking about throwing hot too much when there were literally people arguing that the 49ers' offense had no hot routes.

LOL I love it. I learn a ton here about the nuances with x's and o's. Most folks cannot admit if they were wrong or didn't understand something properly/completely. That would save a ton of struggle on these boards.

I agree and think Purdy can handle it. In fact, I think its warranted, especially situationally and with experience it'll simply expand naturally. The top QB's seem to have all had this trait and were good at it. Montana and Brady come immediately to mind and they pointed out that Brady himself talked about it during the Tampa game.

It's wild because if you negate a few of these plays we really are 8-2.

Single call, how about multiple calls that just happen when we convert a 3rd down

How about not putting ourselves in positions where we needs to decide the game ?
what does that even mean.. every play is putting yourself in a position . plus it happened all game, not just the end.

All the folks that want Ben and s**t on Kyle bring up his "choking" in the ATL game SO why stop there? Let's talk about Ben Johnson being up 24-7 at halftime and only scoring 7pts and that was with 3 mins left in the game?

Can't have it both ways

For the record I don't want Ben Johnson.

I want a coach who has ample HC experience.

So who's that?

he'll say Mike McCarthy just watch

I'll pass on Mike as a HC. He's had some blunders over the years late in games, especially when we played them.

There is rarely one reason that causes teams to lose. Look at how close most games are every week. Even the worst teams can give a team like the Chiefs a tough game. Wins require most plays to work. Most penalties to be called against the other team. Pass deflections to go your way. So many things go into winning a football game that trying to blame one coach, one player or one bad call is really crazy.

When things are going bad like they are now it's foolish to think making a coaching change is going to turn everything around. Unless there's a player revolt or something mid season changes rarely work. If anything they often make things worse.

There is a lot of truth to this but what do you do when a coach who enjoyed success in the past continues to do the same things that don't work? Isn't it fair to expect the coach to adjust or try new things? The frustration for me is he continues to try and force a square peg into a round hole. The run game is a perfect example. CMC is getting nothing and Mason stays on the sidelines. Another is deboo jet sweeps for losses. We just keep doing it. Missed protections on critical plays. Why do we continue to call complicated plays that bust when a simple screen or quick route will do the trick. The offensive just looks wrong. Brock is having to run on more plays than he should. I think the lack of a new playbook is frustrating fans. For me, i support moving on from him because he doesn't change. We keep seeing the same errors and crappy plays. I would be less likely to want him gone if he was active in fixing the problems. The perception is he is always right and his play work. If they don't work let's just keep calling them until they do. It's not fun to watch the team we love struggle like this. The guy needs to be accountable. I don't think I have seen him take accountability for any of our woes. It's always about what the players did or did not do. I am sorry but it's not always the players. Decisions have consequences and he is making a bunch of bad calls. Kyle has a weirdness to him that is unsettling. He doesn't look all that inspired or inspiring. All of this on top of the leads blown and superbowls lost… it adds up to a bad culture. They are starting to get used to losing….that is ugly…. Just my thoughts.

You can't just ban all vpns. It's not feasible. Vpns are just servers that tunnel traffic. The only way vpn is flagged is via blacklists. Blacklists typically contain known vpn servers.

Nothing stops one from putting their own proxy server in aws and using it. And no one will ban the ip because it's not a known vpn server.

Ip bans in 2024 arent serious. They weren't serious 25 years ago either, but ease of finding and using a proxy/vpn got a million times easier for an average user.

The film shows the team failing. The record proves that. The film shows him calling the same busted plays. The film shows his team making stupid errors.. repeatedly.. the film does not show him doing anything different. Past success is just the past.. it's not what matters right now. Today. This season. In case you missed it we are not in the playoff picture let along a conference championship. Again, you dismiss facts and lay it all on execution. Ok. Why is his team not executing? What is he doing to change that? I can live with that if it's because we don't have talent. But we do have talent. A lot of talent and we aren't doing s**t with it. It's his role to maximize the talent. Do you think he is doing that this year?

you know that's BS right.. just in the Purdy thread it shows how wrong you are and the plays are there.. just not executed

also 5-5 is not failing. we were 5-5 in 2021 also and had 500 or <500 the year before when starting out the season. So it's not entirely over.

Let resume the discussion when we are 5-7. We are looking at 3 for sure losses. Detroit packers bills. We seem to always f**k up against the bears. Maybe we beat the fish. There is one more win. Cards and LA already beat us but I will play along and say we win one of those. Not enough for the post season. Not enough for a winning season. Best realistic case 8-9. Highly possible 7-10. Possible 6-11.
