49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

Kyle's time to shine. QB are plug and play in his system. All the answers are there for any QB to succeed.

Word on the street is that he can polish any turd. Primary example is Jimmy G, according to some. Let's see it again!

Cmon Kyle this game is made for you to remind everyone that it's you and not Brock that runs this b***h.

When did the Lions win 2 championships

I like the Lions (as well as Campbell and Ben Johnson) but they have to win the Super Bowl to be labeled as such.

So you're saying Andy Reid and Mahomes need to have the best roster in the NFL to win the championship? Interesting take. I just think they are really clutch when they need it. Like Mariano Rivera in his prime

if you are talking roster without the QB ok maybe Detroit is better but considering HC and QB KC is the team for a reason

Well roster does encompass all 53 players. The talent on the Lions is unquestionably better the Chiefs.

Yeah, people here used to say the same about the Niners and look what happened

It just depends on how you want to weigh the talent. I'd say the 49ers had* more good players… the better roster from top to bottom. I'd also say the Chiefs had more valuable high end talent (hinging mostly on Mahomes obviously).

lets do the full calculation. i weight QB more for obvious reasons. it's Mahomes v Goff here. that's a landslide. and i like Goff as a Berkeley guy but no contest. then you have Spags, then you have Reid. i mean that's the best HC in the game, and the best DC in the game and all timers at both. so massive edge before you get to roster. and Worthy is a guy, Kelce is older but for a game he'll still bring it if they gotta have it, OL is good, Karlaftis, Bolton, McDuffie these are all great players around Chris Jones. gotta remember the best D player for Detroit is Hutch and he's out. KC D is just better than Detroit. the Detroit edge is mostly in the O skill positions and OL. it's a good debate tho. give me Mahomes and the elite D.

So quit paying older veterans that are far more prone to injury, trade them for more draft picks, and be Far more willing to play your younger guys, and you won't be so injured, you won't be running into a wall, and you'll have a far bigger stream of young talent. Quit thinking you can't win without this veteran or that veteran. I know I know you'll choke on this, but Bill Walsh Always got rid of his veterans before they oou r the fans thought he should, and none of them played better after they were traded, and that robust stream of youngsters gave him a high enough percent of winners to stay on top until long past his retirement.
So you're saying don't keep anyone past their first contract due to future injuries ?

I don't see where I said that. That's not an old veteran, and your young veterans are likely the backbone of your team, but since you brought it up, on another tack, if they're a Diva and demand more than they are worth, their percent of the cap amounts to too many eggs in one basket to gaWemble on their still unestablished performance or their health.
you pretty much said it without having to say it.. Which Vets are you talking about then. we don't have that many long in the tooth vets..

You want to get rid of Trent ?

Well, when you leave yourself standing there stark naked, and he holds you up on an already agreed to new contract to finish his career, and he's agreed to not do that again, and he knows you have no bench, then no, you can't. That's mismanagement to get into that situation, and now you will be paying a kings ransom for a guy very likely spending significant time on the bench, and then retiring walking away with all your new guaranteed money. Please reread the part of keeping a robust stream of youngsters coming in. Yes, I'm talking about Trent, but you've got to plan ahead.
Keeping the youngters will eventually have to be let go or traded or they turn into vets..

There's no way we or any team can hit 100% of their draft to stay young like you want..

The Lions have the best OC in the game. The best tandem at RB in the league. Their receiving core is great. Their O line is the best in the league. I'll take the Lions all day.

They had arguably the worst roster to win a SB last year so no they don't need the best roster. They had zero WRs
Shany is such a STUPID TOOL he thinks Brandon Allen is better than Joshua Dobbs. Nobody who watched the NFL or our preseason could possibly believe that. He wants people to run his play. Because "the answer is always in the play." He doesn't like athletic off schedule things and proven to play well as a backup like Dobbs. He wants somebody to run his STUPID PLAY. A subservient lap dog. That's why he goes to Allen. Somebody who won't question his brilliance too much or do something off schedule. Even if it helps you win.
