yup. ppl don't consider the psychology of it. he built it up. now we are on the downswing. and everyone knows it. it's not about 'is he a good coach'. it's about is he burnt out? does he have the energy to reboot this thing over a handful of years? would that even work? with how stagnant we are, i was open to a fresh set of eyes last offseason, if those eyes were Belichick.

I'm definitely wondering that as well.

I think you guys are reading your own fantasies into the situation. Kyle wants to be a HC for another 20+ years. He decided that a long, long time ago. He's not gonna retire in his mid-40s.

He'll have an extra month to reflect upon this past season this offseason. Knowing Kyle he won't want to stand pat. Shanahan has always made bold moves to overcome what he saw as flaws and inefficiencies. Expect some huge personnel and staff overhauls this offseason.

From a Niners Nation poster:

No one wants to go back to the Tomsula era.

49ers commit consecutive 12 men on the field penalties and get blown out by 28.

I think we're back.

Truer words have never been spoken.

I'm not hoping Kyle leaves or gets let go so that's not a "fantasy" of mine. But I do wish he'd pull his head out of his ass and not be so predictable, vanilla, stagnant, and stubborn on offense.

That's the best thing he could do for this organization.

That would be great.

That was ugly. Injuries or not, that's not really an excuse for all the missed tackles and constant penalties.

I'm still hopeful this team can put It all together before It's too late.

Yeah.. The defense was disgusting.

Offense? There was a lot wrong, but the most glaring? The OL. We could not do ANYTHING. Wars are won in the trenches, and we got our teeth knocked tf out on both sides of the ball there. We will never win a Championship until we make that the #1 priority on offense like we had previously on defense.

Everyone knows that if you're strong there, it makes the jobs of everyone else easier.

We can only pray. Hopefully his takes out his frustrations by drinking himself silly before throwing in his resignation.

this is our only escape from this 8 year trip of misery this clown has put us through

Tomsula has never had a winning team nor made it to the playoffs.. far from the truth

he may not resign, after all he's getting fat checks. if jed thinks his best days are in the rear view or he's burnt out it's on jed to make the call. this roster is not really good anymore. rough year for cmc, trent, deebo, ba, even brock. only guy who balled out was warner. team is old.

One could argue you're doing the same thing.

The key difference being there's at least evidence to support his opinion

There's no evidence to suggest Kyle might hang them up this year, or anytime soon. People are guessing this could be a possibility because of his appearance and the fact that the* team is uncharacteristically struggling, lol.
