They have a perfect opportunity to have a two headed monster running game. Much like DET does. Use that s**t! Get them both on the field at the same time. Get Issac involved a little. Use that speed on those OZ runs.

I mean whatever with this game. I didn't expect much from the offense without Trent and Brock. The constant penalties continue to kill this team. There's no groove like last yr. The running game is nonexistent and when that happens the offense is toast.

people look at DET and want that (that was who SF was last yr). Everything is based off the running game.

The defense is a joke. They have to be one of the worst 3rd down defenses in football. 12 men all the field two plays in a row? That's f**king pathetic. I don't even know how many missed tackles they had but that's a constant as well.

The sad part is we have what Detroit has, arguably better. CMC and Mason can be more productive than Gibbs and Montgomery. Deebo and Pearsall can do what Amon-Ra does. We have a better TE. We have a better QB. The only thing they have better is an oline, but Kyle should be able to scheme around it. He just doesn't. He'd rather play useless Juszczyk rather than putting both RB in the game. He'd rather run the WR end around with Deebo rather than use a speed guy like Guerendo or Cowing. He still focuses on using the middle of the field instead of using the sidelines.

yesterday he had two monster runs back to back from CMC and Mason. What does he do ? FOUR STRAIGHT PASS PLAYS right after with turnover on downs. With a backup QB. And a half assed oline.

How can you defend that strategy ?

I expect ST and DC gone. In fact most of the DC staff should be gone and let a new DC bring in his people? Dont demand a scheme, just find a good coach who will get the most out of our talent on defense. Something to that effect. I think the OL guy sucks. Hire new blood and ideas on the offense in a way that helps Kyle.

I keep coming back to this point week after week, we do not dominate the trenches at all anymore. It all starts from there, so they need to reinvest in the trenches as a priority. They have plenty of players to build around. While it's disheartening to see the drop off, they can turn it around, but it is asking for a lot of things to work out and fall into place rather quickly.

This is a rational post that makes a lot of sense.

They do need to get way better in the trenches on both sides of the ball. I'd argue that on offense, their OL has never dominated the trenches under Shanahan. I remember well the glory days when the Niners absolutely would dominate the trenches on both sides of the ball. Winning in the trenches is so important towards winning championships.

Hopefully, it will be figured out you can't just continue to roll out guys like Brendel & McKivitz and expect the offense to function consistently effective like this teams wants, especially against more talented teams/more talented D-linemen. And, you would think this team with a talented young QB like Purdy would absolutely make sure to find or acquire strong OL talent (especially in the middle - thankfully they found Puni) to protect him as a passer & help him be more effective overall with a better balanced attack with stronger run blocking.

Look how the Lions built up their OL in front of Goff…the Chiefs in front of Mahomes…the Packers in front of Love…the Eagles in front of Hurts, etc.
Totally, also look at the Steelers. They redid their o line in one draft and are very competitive.

OL has to be the #1 priority this offseason. DL/DB should be #2.

Even if they trade/lose a skill player or two on offense rebuilding the OL should open up a lot of opportunities for the guys that remain and any new guys coming in.

I know this year sucks, but folks need to remember we have Purdy who imo is top 10 easy, and we have Bosa. Those are two positions you want figured out to build around and we have that.

I would love to somehow keep Greenlaw and Ward (assuming healthy). Hurts to say it, but moving on from Deebo may be the move that allows us to do that. Then via draft and FA load up the trenches and find a real FS to pair with Mustapha.
Get used to Kyle being here, haters

Every time the team has not been crazy hurt, Kyle has led the team to a championship game or Super Bowl.

The only thing that has ever stopped Kyle from ultimately having success has been when his team is decimated with injuries. If you're wishing him to fail, you're really almost just wishing for injuries.

I believe we will bounce back and find a way to remain contenders in the future if we can be healthier going forward.

It's kyles arrogance that will be his downfall.
He plays a broken CMC over Mason. He plays Allen with a broken finger over Dobbs. He plays favorites which leads to him not putting the best talent in the field. Kyle is incredibly overpaid. Kyle needs to go if we ever want to win a Super Bowl. He will never win a Super Bowl, I don't care where he goes.

Instead he requires a robot QB like Brandon Allen who he can run the same Brock Purdy plays for.

Shanahan does see Dobbs every day in practice. And he thought Allen could manage his offense and not change too much of the offense. But what he should've done was put Dobbs in at the middle of the 3rd quarter. Jaylon Moore and Jake Brendel didn't make it any easier on Allen either.

You missed the OPs point entirely

Did I really though, I mean read it again. If Shanahan thought Allen could manage his offense same as Purdy, why would he need to adjust to that QB? My point about Dobbs was that if he was #2 there's a reason he wasn't, therefore not needing to adjust or change the offense or game plan.....on the fly.

Yah, like I said I wasn't expecting a win.......I wanted a win, just wasn't expecting it. But what I wanted to see was a mix at RB like you said. When Mason was in for his lone carry in the first half, he had a solid gain and GB is lucky Mason and Guerendo didn't see more snaps. Seriously, what better way to take pressure off of your inexperienced QB than to use your three RB's!!!! And for the last f**kin time, change out Brendel!!!!!!

The back to back 12 man penalties, didn't mean that much to me more than the miss tackles. Yah those penalties shouldn't have happened but it's just more of a case that Nick Sorensen needs to be fired and replaced. This is thee worst prepared defense I've ever seen in the Shanahan era, this point, I'd like to see Brandon Staley step in for the rest of the season. Campbell, WTF is he still doing on the field, dude is hurting this team more than helping. Ji Ayir Brown, f**k, I been screaming for new Safeties before the season started!!! Put Gipson back to his spot and move Mustapha to Brown's spot.

Change is needed, lets f**kin go Shanahan!!!!
This was as complete a team loss as there is. Does Kyle deserve so blame? Of course because he's the HC. The players deserve most of it though. Twenty missed tackles was a high in the NFL this season. That's not on the coaches. An INT that goes right through Deebo's hands and results in a big return to set up a score. False starts by the O line. Three by Puni.

This was a mess from start to finish.

I think it's more about an over-reliance to retain and pay for older pro bowl skill players due to poor drafting and FA additions and/or not integrating these players to provide fresh bursts and development opportunities.

It's a vicious cycle, but teams like the Ravens and Chiefs know how to do this extremely well.

I think Kyle can potentially pull it together if he makes foundational changes in the offseason. But if he retains DC, ST coordinators and runs back the same poor OL again, then i would seriously question Kyle vs brining in Ben Johnson to run the show.

You shanni-fans are so cringe but it's not surprising.
it was the same with Alex smith and jimmy g. A lot of Fans are addicted to mediocrity.

Explain why he is playing CMC over Mason.
explain why he plays a broken Allen over Dobbs.
explain why he didn't know the rules in last years Super Bowl.
explain why Shannahan chokes when the game is on the line, over and over again, IN THE BIGGEST GAMES.
explain why Shannahan has never taken the blame for anything.
explain why all his QB's regress under his reign.
explain to me how his penchant for playing favorites with his players keeps him from playing the best players game to game.
Why does Kyle get a pass on throwing away so many first round draft picks for a QB he didn't even plan on drafting?
Kyle's clock management sucked when he got here and it still sucks now. If he can't change that why don't "beleive" he will right the ship.

Dont come with this pathetic "I beleive he will change things" crap. Tell me why you think he's gonna change now when everything he has shown us up to now says he refuses to change.
WHY do you beleive he will change? What of Kyle tells you he can change or will change?
it's year 8 and Kyle is still a choke job.
how many years do you want to give him? 12? 15?

Damn, I see you like to make things up
I remember the past coaches and losing seasons and do not look forward to that anytime soon. Kyle has to be open to adjusting his scheme. He doesn't attack mismatches, has no answer for blitzes, and refuses to rotate running backs. It also doesn't feel like he holds these dudes accountable, which can explain all the mental lapses. The next defensive coordinator needs to be a strong personality, if Kyle just only wants to stare at his clip board all game.

Marv Levy lost four and they put him in the Hall of Fame. Some people love losing.
