The guy didn't know when to call the right plays.. could he have gotten better. probably. but the damage was done internally (players) and externally (fans)

like i said shanny keeps stepping on rakes. drafting lance was a major one. it looks increasingly like this core won't get a ring. probably will need some form of reboot.
Lance didn't affect our success. Rings are not easy to come by.. and the chances we had had to be against the best QB.. I guess this is what felt like going up against Montana ?

ones are valuable and we wasted three of them in the middle of a SB window. red flags have been all over for a while if we care to look.
I don't expect to win every year unless I'm the Chiefs but is it year 9 or 10 next year (wow-really? where the hell does time go) and we had the best roster we will probably have in the last two or three years. I don't hate Kyle. There is a lot to be thankful for but maybe he just isn't the guy for here. I get only one team can win the SB but we just can't get over the hump and bigger than that neither can he dating back to his OC days.

I also get if he were gone from here he would be snapped in 60 seconds but that isn't the point. Maybe his time coming round two and maybe ours. For all the bad and good from Kyle and yes a lot of good, in my opinion one of his greatest weaknesses the last ten years is failure to land the franchise QB. It should have been priority one and the rest falls into place. Maybe Brock is the guy but it shouldn't of taken seven years to get there and that was a bit of fluke by accident. I can't believe he rode JG so long. Even after the NFC championship game where he was almost non-existent on purpose by Kyle.

And no, I don't know who should replace him if that is the case. I really don't but there are options I'm sure. What I do know if this changes is for a true GM, true HC and true OC. Each with their dedicated focus with the GM having ultimate say. Period.

This team has been poorly coached except on D when Saleh and DeMeco here. That is when the D clicked best. We need a new DC but someone out there needs to take accountability and take a hard look at the Offense and the offensive line. Trent is/was magic. But it's over. Now what?

Say we don't draft lance, We possibly don't have Purdy. changing one thing doesn't mean other things stay the same.

The future first rounders we have now, are more valuable than those.

pretzel logic. brock was essentially undrafted. you can invest your ones better and brock is still there for us all the same. parsons was taken in our 2021 draft slot ok that's a ring right there. just put him on the 2021 squad and we are wrecking the league with parsons and bosa. we didn't do anything with brock anyway. the historic he costs nothing window is over with nothing to show for it, just a SB where our guys didn't know the rules.

there is no way you can prove everything stays the same. lol

If we had another year of jimmy, we most def take a QB higher than undrafted

i don't have to prove anything. it's reasonable that any investment of those ones, other than lance, gives more ROI. we just needed a lil ROI to get this over the line. they went with some nonsense this guy has never played, wasn't recruited, very young and inexperienced weak prospect. he was one of the worst draft picks of all time. very expensive on draft capital also. we didn't just shoot ourselves in the foot when we picked him, we stopped to reload and shoot ourselves in the foot some more.
The thing is, I have been pretty disappointed in Kyle at times, but at the same time, honestly, I don't want him to go anywhere else. I sure as heck wouldn't want to play against him. It just doesn't seem right to come so close this many times and not win one here. I have no idea what the hell he is thinking with some things, other times, he is a great coach. I still think, somehow we can win it all with him but idk..he has had his chances and blew them too. One really has no room for f**k ups in the Superbowl..there may not be a next time. He is still young though and has some years to get one..if he doesn't age into dust beforehand lol.

again it didn't affect our success. and Purdy wouldn't be a 49er if we didn't pick lance cause we would be even more desperate for a QB the year after

we could have just signed Sam for nothing. vs taking Lance for three ones. Darnold is much better. so even in a world of no Purdy like you mention, keep all your ones and you can have Darnold or Baker or Brady. he had QB options on the table right? do we forget tom brady? notice the options we could have had, and what he spent all our draft capital on. this is why i say, he needs far removed from personnel and picking the DC. let him focus on offense. he's doing many things poorly. let him do one thing well.

I would love to play against Kyle in a Superbowl. Guaranteed victory for us cause you know he's gonna self implode at some point. Hope that happens some day…. 🤞

that's great. i like has beens. cheap. trey lance was not cheap. he wouldn't be QB2 for any of these guys. he would be QB3.

49ATT making it sound like everything is perfect in Ninerland. Spent the last few pages defending all the coaches and players practically 😂

Hire who?

Do you think Saleh is a realistic option? I mentioned earlier bringing in a new dc and let him fill out his staff.
Saleh would be here already instead of being with the packers

great DCs don't hit the market, unless they were a HC that got fired

True as far as the packers go, but they have a DC so I am thinking he may certainly entertain offers for a DC position.

Also very true about great DC's, but we need to try and find one. I am thinking how Kyle can get the best out of his talent on offense, I want a DC who isn't beholden to any one scheme, but instead can scheme the most out of who he has etc. I cannot see Sorensen being here next year.
Saleh wasn't great at first, shoot he was getting the heat like Sorenson is now.

That just shows that things just don't happen in an instant. If there is a next DC, the odds he can fix things in one off season is low

I recall he was bad at first, but he caught on as the season went on and much better after. I don't get that vibe from Sorenson. I think we need to try someone new.
