49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

It's such a bummer to see Deebo be such a shell of what he was. I will forever be grateful to have watched him at his peak. Incredible watching him put the team on his back, but it's just not there anymore. No hard feelings, one of my favorites to put the red and gold on.

Lots if arm chairing going on here. Understandable because of the disappointing season, but some of it is mired in projected speculation and pretty useless.

The truth is none of us know what it is Kyle needs or doesn't need to turn this around next year. When the season ends Kyle, Lynch and Jed will sit down and go over all of it. Maybe that'll mean Kyle decides to bring in someone to call plays, maybe it doesn't. Maybe that means they cut Purdy or they extend him (pointless to play him on a 4th year deal when that signals you don't trust him to be your guy). Maybe that means they move on from some vets and bite the bullet on their cap hit. Truth is we won't know if these decisions are the right ones until about a year from now either way.

And maybe someone finally questions Kyle's inability to Win the biggest game in the biggest moment.

Won't even be on the table as a topic this offseason. The focus will be on adjusting in order to improve enough to make the playoffs. No point in worrying about winning the SB if you can't even get to the postaeason.
I think the most frustrating thing in all of this.

The Chiefs are incredibly banged up this year too. Granted I think it's mainly offense and not their great defense that has kept them in every game.

But still, you see them continuing to win games. SF has injuries and we just crumble and couldn't get out of our own way all season.

Just really shows how much further ahead Andy is than Kyle.

stop the BS.. they are no where near as injured as us and they need the Refs to win on top of it

Comes down to scheme, adjustments, and mental fortitude. We lose at all 3.

I remember Bill Walsh's first year when we won only 2 games, and I went to both of those wins. So, trust me when I say I have seen worse, and there is always next year. Stay Faithful.
do you know you're the one posting mostly all the negative posts here

RonnieLott says " Stay Faithful"

and 49AllTheTime says that he's being negative.

Is your handle not "49AllTheTime"?

I would include the lions with the chiefs. The lions have had an insane amount of injures and they are still playing as well as they are.
Imagine how good our D would have been/still been in year 2 of a Fangio defense . He wanted to come here the year we hired Wilks

correct. The quality of the QBs shows up there. Goff is brilliant and KC has probably the greatest QB of all time on their roster too. Let's be honest if Patrick was on this team he'd still do better even with our current o-line. Purdy's not holding the team back, but he hasn't elevated them either this season.

We haven't drafted depth like they have, and we don't have 3 first round picks from 2021-2023 on the team since Lance was the only one from those years and he's gone. People need to stop pretending that just because we are past those years that we aren't still being affected by that trade and draft.

It needs to be. Kyle has shown after 8 years that he still can't manage a game when it matters most.

lost me at goff is brilliant. he's propped up by the talent all around him.
A bunch of very expensive stars means your depth chart is filled with cheap, low quality guys.

They are meant to just fill in the little gaps here and there while the big talent does the heavy lifting.

But... now all the big talent is hurt. And all that's left are guys who are the bottom tier NFL players all over the field.

Goff is the second highest rated QB this year. Goff is also the first player in NFL history to record multiple games with at least 400 passing yards, four touchdowns, and a perfect passer rating. Goff's achievement highlights his growing legacy as one of the NFL's top quarterbacks.
