49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

This season has been a disaster starting in training camp. They haven't had their projected starting team on the field for one game this year. Some of that is bad breaks and some may be age and wear and tear. But there's also another factor. Complacency.

Think about your own job career. When you start a new job you always do your best to impress the boss and the other employees. Once you settle in you begin to relax and you find a comfort level. Eventually you get complacent and start taking a sick day here and there. I've seen this at every place I worked and I'm sure most of you have as well.

Sports is no different. Players that are on the fringe fight hard to stay in the league. The ones that are established and have a big contract don't always play quite as hard. They may think they're playing hard but in reality they aren't giving that little extra that got them the big bucks. This team has a lot of aging players that are getting hurt more and many that are getting paid a lot. Time to step back and evalute who the want to keep and who needs to go.

This is a great, great stat. Andy Reid being first is no surprise, probably makes it essential practice time. 9ers bottom 3 is 100% on shanny. No focus on the most basic parts of football

Turnovers have definitely been a problem this season. Niners were +10 last year and were 6th best. This year they are -3 and ranked 21st. Statistically turnovers, especially fumbles lost, have no discernable season over season pattern, but they seem to come in waves on occasion. Mason's fumble against the Cardinals is probably the worst one this season, but hard to point to just one play. In the end a season is it's own weird ethereal thing and sometimes that's just the way it is. Other 2023 playoff teams are going through their own funky years, too, such as the Bengals, Cowboys, Dolphins, and Browns.

Coaching is always part of it but I don't think this bad season was mostly on Kyle. He didn't cause all the injuries. It was a combination of a lot of things that all came together this year.

BA & CMC injuries are going to linger, let's give Kyle until 2026 to right the ship because we all know he can't design an Offensive play without either of them.

My argument was we know, so they should game plan as if they wont be around. I they are then great. Mason and Guerrendo are fine imo. This team is weak where you cant be, in the trenches.

I've been on the Zone before my current join date of 2007 and never felt it was necessary to go above and beyond my opinion to the point of instigating others. With this said there was a brief time back in the day, when under the guise of a devil's advocate, I would constantly defend my opinion despite the insults turning personal and being hurled my way. That was definitely interesting. Despite this I became rather chill with my main instigator, lol.

It got him to four Super Bowl appearances, what else was Levy suppose to do, just give up after two like you want to do with Shanahan? Ungrateful fans like you should be rooting for the Raiders or Cards where you can live a happy-miserable life with those teams.
