Kyle had the best roster in football that was as healthy as it had ever been facing a down year chiefs squad. How did that turn out? And how do you go UP from last year? Yes, this years team was gonna be worse, that's why I personally scoffed every time I heard we were gonna run it back with a team that was gonna be as good or better than last years. What a crock of S. Talk about gaslighting. And yes, this team will be worse next year. Another year Older and slower. This is no longer a roster that will attract the best coaching candidates.

numerous reasons
QB making real money will be a big deal
team is older, lot of guys on the downswing
injury taking a toll on guys like Huf, BA and CMC and that toll extends perhaps into next season, Hufs whole career seems off track with injury, BA you typically come back a need some time to get your legs after acl. CMC isn't the same this year. Deebo is no longer a guy. and on it goes.
also our team was perhaps cutting edge in 2017-2019. now the whole league runs our stuff. we are no longer at the forefront of innovation.
the big red flags were the QB eval whiff on lance and the DC hires and not empowering those guys to bring their own scheme. sorenson was a weak hire it was a let's just go back to our old ways hire. the league evolves over time. what worked 5 years ago, simply doesn't work forever. i'd rather try to stay ahead of the nfl than go back to our 2019 or 2022 blueprint.

You have to look at it from the coaching candidates point of view.
Let's say the 49ers fired Shanahan after the Super Bowl.
49ers have a coaching opening because they just fired their coach who lost in overtime in the Super Bowl after going to 3 straight nfc title games with an offense that is entirely built around Kyle's system.
So a coach is thinking "if I don't at least make the Super Bowl in Year 1 I'll have people calling for my head".
Factoring in the Super Bowl loser almost always has a hangover the next year (Rams, Eagles, 49ers themselves in 2020, Bengals etc etc).
Also factoring in you have to wait til after the Super Bowl meaning a lot of the top coaches are already hired as part of the annual coaching cycle.
In what world is that the top destination.
Any coach worth his salt would rightly say HARD PASS.

i ask the question are we getting better or worse. right now we are getting worse. it will take some vision to probably remake the roster, which means cutting ties with juice and others.
are we at full strength and just can't win?

We went to the Super Bowl. It's not binary. If it was we wouldn't be pissed right now. Same results as last year to the binary crowd.
thankfully we can choose to not be dense

Like the eagles should have gotten rid of Sirianni after he choked away their Super Bowl and had such a terrible season last year. Had they just fired his ass they wouldn't be in the s**tty situation they are now.
right?
You should consider keeping some of those thoughts in your head 👍🏻

Yeah firing Kyle would be a 3-5 year rebuild

Just like the Chargers when they fired Marty Schottenheimer after he went 14-2.
They ended up with Norv Turner, Mike McCoy and Anthony Lynn.
Or the 49ers after firing Jim Harbaugh. And if Joe Ellis hadn't been a dick, the Broncos would have likely hired Kyle and the 49ers would have ended up with...Tom Cable? Yikes.

The real discussion is what coaches should he let go of and who are viable replacements?

Get outta here with the sirianni Kyle comparison. You couldn't get further apart than these 2. Sirianni is a figurehead and Kyle is the entire front office. I'd bet you today that next year will be just as bad as this year. It's so Friggin obvious!
