The Trey Lance draft is now hurting us so badly.
Kyle really needs to thank his lucky stars for Brian Griese and Brock.
Because Kyle and Lynch should be f**king gone for the worst draft trade in NFL history (Trey Lance for first 3 first rounders) and how this team has played.
But Brock playing at least ok to well allowed us to overperform and stay on track last year. We blew our chance when it mattered most as Kyle has always done.
If it weren't for Brock, we would have already been in hell from that trade but it kind of put the spare tire on and kept us afloat. But now it's just showing in areas like having no pass rush outside of Bosa etc.

Old, injured team with no new talent to replace them. You look across the entire league at the successful teams and see how they constantly replenish old talent with new…. And then you have the Niners who constantly invest in old decrepit players because "you know what you're getting" with them. I'm sick of it dude, same s**t over and over just praying that Kyle Shanahan hits on some gem in the 5th round.
CMC has PCL. Mason now injured with high ankle sprain. Lol. RB by committee. Now there is no Committee.
you want to look at this years successful teams and yet the 49ers were the one's representing the NFC or the ones batting for it. We're injured.. lets start with were too old when we can't win with healthy players

window doesn't stay open forever. 2019 it opened. half decade is forever in NFL terms. we were healthy last year and we didn't win the bowl. i see the window shut. if we get back to a bowl it will be a much different roster.

The 2023 team was a much different roster than the 2019 team, so it's not as impossible as people want to frame it.

You notice how all the names that are hurt this year are the guys who were demanding a s**t ton of money in the off-season? They need to just mail the rest of this season in and get a high draft pick.

No, I didn't notice that. Because it isn't true and even if it was, it is irrelevant.

It is totally relevant and true. CMC, Brandon Aiyuk and Trent Williams. There is upwards of $60 million salary cap.
Maybe the close devastating losses weren't enough to get this team to stop making the same mistakes cuz it gave excuses to not change.
Maybe getting blown out and humiliated like we haven't seen in years is what it finally takes to stop ignoring our biggest issues (OL, special teams, defense depth, RZ woes) to get over the hump.
Hellllooo copium 😮💨 we got lots of self reflecting and work to do this off season...

Just my 2c worth for a little perspective on the incessant fire Shanahan hogwash. Something with the Baltimore ravens almost 10 years ago, and sorry to bring this up also because it's painful to Niner fans, a little while after they won SB 47 they were trying to gradually replace Flacco. Sorry if I don't have the timeline quite right about some of this, but there were a couple of not so great seasons for them somewhere between then and Lamar Jackson era. I remember distinctly plenty of their fans calling to fire John Harbaugh at least one season. Well they stayed the course and obviously the makeup of the team changed like it does with any franchise. Been a perennial playoff team if not SB contender ever since. They've also had epic playoff fails like last year being the 1 seed and still couldn't get over the hump. I compare what the Shanalynch regime is experiencing lately almost the same way. John Harbaugh is one of the longest tenured HC in the league if not the longest. The cavalcade of knee-jerk reactions by people outside the team are just that.

This team is legit bad. I know it's overly reactionary to call for Kyle Shanahan to be fired and I agree, Kyle and John should stay but I do hope that we at least entertain the idea that his seat is hot. His personnel management, management of draft resources, management of player workloads, playcalling (especially in 4th quarter), and adjustments have been and continue to be sources of problems for the team. At some point Shanahan needs a reality check and to look in the mirror and if he doesn't, his seat should heat up

What about Brock, Kittle, Jennings, Mason, Bosa, Hargrave, Greenlaw, Lenoir, Huf, Wish etc...
All guys who have been banged up and missed time...

Season from hell, I tell you.
But...
Shanny can't be fired. He's just too talented and the risk to get a lemon is too big. This roster is built to win NOW, not to go get an unproven coach to get his own QB and install his offense 3-4 years down the road. We've just been unlucky with injuries the same way we were in 2020. We have just way too many.
Plus, we hit a good draft overall this year, so there's a foundation for the next season. We DO HAVE our QB in Purdy, regardless of what people are saying. I believe his down year can easily be attributed to game planning and calling.
Having said that...
Shanny never really could replace his DC after Ryans left, and an assistant offensive coach after McDaniels left. I'm tired of the "he needs to be held accountable" mantra because those people basically want him to come out in a press conference and personally apologize to each and every fan, and that's not gonna happen.
What SHOULD happen is, he needs to stop letting his ego get in the way. Needs a very good offensive coach who will challenge his expertise and tell him when he's messing up, like running CMC to the ground, or actually get some high grade talent in the offensive line.

Bosa got his money, Hargrave got his money...even Kittle got his money so yes, they are the money men.
Of course everyone plays with injuries throughout the season. Kansas City are beat up. Detroit are beat up and they are still winning.

It's 3 pm. Why hasn't Sorensen been fired or demoted and replaced with Brandon Staley?
