Jonny and Adam Merino catering to their donor'$ ego$. "Everything will be fine.. things can change next year.. think positive".

Instead of an ad hominem, why not state what you disagree with him on specifically and what your particular view on a given play is?

Funny that the comment right above this is him doing exactly that.

It got him to four Super Bowl appearances, what else was Levy suppose to do, just give up after two like you want to do with Shanahan? Ungrateful fans like you should be rooting for the Raiders or Cards where you can live a happy-miserable life with those teams.

Totally agree. People don't realize how good they actually have it until the next coach comes in and it's nowhere near as good. A good friend of mine is a life-long DIEHARD Bears fan. He texted me LAST week after the GB loss and asked if fans are really calling for Kyle to get fired. I told him half the fanbase wants him gone and all he said was, "are they retarded"?

This is what happens when you have success. You get the fairweather fans that come in and think every year we need to win a SB if not fire, X Y Z. This forum is also a good indication of that. A lot of new accounts and new posters joined after 2019, and most of them are the fairweather fans who don't know s**t.

I've never heard a fan of another team say Kyle sucks or should be fired, same with the media. We just have a lot of dumb fans now unfortunately.

Zero facts, Zero evidence, more slinging 💩.

Now anyone who doesn't like Kyle is a fair weather fan, lol. 😂

What other BS you have?
I don't care what Kyle says, I care what he does so he better bring a hammer to his coaching staff this offseason.

Huh? You think the terrible performances in Minnesota and LA were primarily due to injuries? The Arizona game too?

I didn't say that. Let's put our jump to conclusions mats away.

i said we were injured before the season started. As much as some want to make large sweeping assumptions, to ignore major injuries as a data entry is an error.

greenlaw, cmc, Hufunga, Ambry, drake, and Elijah Mitchel were all unavailable to start the season. Those injuries alone would have a detrimental effect to any team.

is the the reason we lost those games? Probably not. Is it a large contributing factor. Probably so.

No need to argue with me… I'm just posting the information. Kyle has done enough to lose my confidence this season. My point is I'm willing to give any coach a pass on such a s**t season with our laundry list of injuries.

those injuries didn't convince Kyle to run empty set pass plays in blizzard conditions in a game in which we were running for 7+ yards per attempt. The injuries didn't influence the coaching hires, nor the makeup of our special teams squads.

but yes, we are perhaps the most injured team in nfl history this season. Regardless of our assumptions, that is a major contributing factor

Well when it comes to Ben Johnson, I don't feel Ben would need to be threatened by Jed York to keep Brock Purdy as the QB. I think Ben would LOVE to work with Brock. I don't know why Jonny wants to use that type of scare tactic.

And yes Ben Johnson looks good because he has playmakers on his offense, but Kyle has WAY better playmakers and has had them for a while now. I just like how the Lions offense attacks attacks and attacks the offense. Same with the Packers offense right now. Trying to put teams away.

In the past I've mentioned that I wouldn't call to move on from Kyle unless I felt we could replace him. First I feel he is not as good as a "head coach" as he is a play designer, as far as preparation...attention to detail...the little things. I feel he just expects his players to know things. (Super Bowl blunder as an example, in comparison to Andy Reid).

I just feel we have to jump on Ben Johnson being available, even if it means we have to move on from a Head Coach who has two Super Bowl appearances. If we miss out on him, then we'll be force to stick with Kyle and his stubborn ways (which I know some desperately want us to do until the end of time). Wasting another few years.

As far as players... I think Mooney Ward has done great for us in his 9er tenure. Jonny seems to want to rewrite history all the sudden, just to deflect. To be unnecessarily defensive of Brock's play imo. I think most 9er fans like Brock.

Bump. I can't name a single HC function Kyle is good at beyond play design. Keep Lynch, and we won't be hiring any Tomsulas. There are several good offensive minds out there that would Very likely be better team builders, motivators, and fighters with judgement to win big games than Kyle. And since Lynch would primarily be hiring the new HC, I for one would at least have hope John would not feel as much need to acquiesce to the HC's favorites and we'd be more careful on overspending and growing old and injured.

Totally agree

it's more than I thought, and that's not the entire list. Kyle deserves credit for not using it as an excuse each week.

"Injuries shouldn't matter" is the most ignorant thing said on these boards. Even if we could adjust and overcome the permanent talent deficit from IR, the constant rotation of short-term injuries to the players still available makes it impossible to create continuity. Can't game plan when you don't know which RB is going to be available. Can't strategize when what was going to be your strength just became your weakness.

fred, I'm going to have you cover the a gap in these situations.

s**t, sorry Fred forget what I just said. Bosa just went down…. I'm going to need you to watch outside containment instead.

s**t, Fred I also need help covering lenoirs zone. Yea, he hurt his knee.

🤷‍♂?🤷‍♂?.

Dude they have been a mediocre team since the start of the season, before all the injuries mounted up.

homer alert. Shanahan's kid is back on-site making sure no one blames him for paying a bunch of old guys who *surprise* get injured more often, like Hargrave or

runs em into the ground like CMC

how about Shanny picks in rounds 1-3 the last 3-4 years? Aside from the most recent draft it's all crap. No one worthy of a second contract minus Brock.

THE WINDOW ON THIS COMBO OF PLAYERS IS FINISHED. KAPUT. OVER.

Kyle has made some head scratching decisions. But to state our mediocre season started before the injuries is objectively false.

Crazy how Rams were without their two best players. Juice gets blamed, Ward, kittle, Brock, Sorensen, McKivits, Brown all get blames. But not the HC, ever. It's mind boggling how protected the actual HC is around here. Nothing is ever his fault.

I remember seeing top 5 GM Trent Baalke wasn't the problem on here too, back then . People must have forgot!

Every HC in the NFL has total control of all of his coaches. We aren't going to be the lone exception. The only way you can get what you want is to part ways with Kyle.

i ask the question are we getting better or worse. right now we are getting worse. it will take some vision to probably remake the roster, which means cutting ties with juice and others.
How are we getting worse?

are we at full strength and just can't win?

I do believe he asked if we are getting better or worse.

You see it as him stating that we are getting worse.

Is your sole purpose to start arguments?
Some fans are under the delusion that Kyle has complete and total control of everything, including John Lynch. Lynch would not be here if he had no power. He's not just some talking head or puppet of Kyle.

In fact.. While we know Kyle and John are friends, I'm honestly starting to wonder if there's some friction there.

John called out the discipline of the team. Is he taking shots at the players or at Kyle?

Kyle said "we're not as good of a team, we're not the same team at all." is HE taking a shot at the players or at Lynch?

Shoot.. I may have just given Grant his next article..

You have to look at it from the coaching candidates point of view.

Let's say the 49ers fired Shanahan after the Super Bowl.

49ers have a coaching opening because they just fired their coach who lost in overtime in the Super Bowl after going to 3 straight nfc title games with an offense that is entirely built around Kyle's system.

So a coach is thinking "if I don't at least make the Super Bowl in Year 1 I'll have people calling for my head".

Factoring in the Super Bowl loser almost always has a hangover the next year (Rams, Eagles, 49ers themselves in 2020, Bengals etc etc).

Also factoring in you have to wait til after the Super Bowl meaning a lot of the top coaches are already hired as part of the annual coaching cycle.

In what world is that the top destination.

Any coach worth his salt would rightly say HARD PASS.

In that perspective I totally agree with you.

I found kittles post game comments interesting as well. I'd imagine a season like this would test most relationships lol.

if my wife was responsible for this collapse I would have left her after the Arizona loss 🤣🤣🤣

Like the eagles should have gotten rid of Sirianni after he choked away their Super Bowl and had such a terrible season last year. Had they just fired his ass they wouldn't be in the s**tty situation they are now.

right?

You should consider keeping some of those thoughts in your head 👍🏻
