You're talking generally and I'm talking specifically about what they did. Had they traded up and drafted Trevor Lawrence it would have been a lot less reckless. What they did was spend 3 1sts and drafted a player from a lower level of college football who missed the last season and played only one full season total. They knew he was a raw prospect who needed to learn the position and they should have been aware that would hurt a SB team's chances of winning for at least one and likely multiple years.

A prospect like Lawrence could have stepped in and executed the Jimmy G role in this offense. It would have at least been a reasonable expectation and gamble.

You can't tell your team full of all stars and SB ready players that we are playing a worse QB than what we have available because it will pay off years down the road hopefully.
I could see Kyle bringing Chicago to the cusp of greatness for years to come haha
I've heard the rumors that Kyle really wanted Mac jones but was over ruled by the front office or was shamed into drafting Trey by the fans and the media. I would love to find out what was really going on. I just couldnt see Kyle giving up all that capital for Mac Jones.

The season is basically over. Injuries and poor coaching are the main reason. This team should've been 9–2 with good coaching. Sorensen and Brian Schneider shouldn't have a job next year.

A flag every time the special teams is on the field is not sustainable. How Brian Schneider still have a job? It's the worst coached unit in the NFL by far.

Lynch and Kyle should've been ashamed for this OL unit. Brendel, McKivitz and Brendel are practice squad level players. How do you put these guys to protect Purdy? It's not a coincidence that he's injured.

The drain on quality coaches over the past four years is telling. However, league rules have prevented Kyle from keeping guys like Salah, Ryans, McDaniel, and Slowik. It sucks.

Special teams failures are due in large part to the lack of quality depth in LBs and secondary players. Coaching plays a role but you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, as they say down on the farm.

McKivitz is an average RT in the league. Brendel has been the weak link.

hey Smokey, what would you like to see happen? Do you want to see Kyle play out his extension? Are you ok with another 6 years of Kyle just keeping us competitive?

we're not making the playoffs this year. Are we allowed to talk about getting rid of the football genius after he misses the playoffs twice?

I would like to see Kyle stick around and see if we can rebound from this season. He's already proven he's a capable asset in terms of keeping a team competitive for Super Bowls and rebuilding a roster quickly. If over the next couple of seasons signs indicate otherwise, or he loses the locker room in the meantime, than I would be willing to look elsewhere.
Last year was the year to get it done, just like 2013 was the year to get it done in the Harbaugh era. This team is the 2014 49ers all over again.

Do you put anything on Kittles comments after the game Sunday night? That's the closest he's come
to being critical of the playcalling or Brock's play.

Except everyone knew the coach was gone in 2014 before the season started, which was likely a factor in their underwhelming performance. It was a textbook example of self sabotage from
an incompetent front office and owner.

Kyle took lance. that's what happened. he wanted some game changer who can dual threat and stretch the D vertical and outside the numbers. you could write a book on how bad a move it was. kings ransom for QB3 in the draft, a guy with a million red flags. he's effectively a less skilled or good version of Tebow.

How about Trade Shanny to Chicago for first and hire Robert Saleh????

If we could hire an OC from the Shanny tree to keep the offense similar it could work out.

it's bold so therefore it is a good move, right? right?

this one is for you hysterikal

we want our franchise taking bold big swings, no?

K you're just being deliberately dumb I like it

We need an OC, we need a new DC and we need a new special teams coach.

Our offensive play calling lacks ingenuity. There was one trick play today (the screen pass to Deebo), the rest of the game was just the same old s**t.

If Kyle is burned out then bring in an OC.

Our defense's scheme has been figured out. Sorensen didn't have the experience to get the DC job, he only got it because he's familiar with the scheme Kyle likes to use. Why not bring in a new DC that runs a new scheme? why not be open to using our talent in new ways that the rest of the league hasn't figured out already?

Special teams has been an issue for multiple seasons. Why it hasn't been addressed is beyond me.

no i am exposing how your logic breaks down seconds after you put it forward. you can see that plainly here. "bold" doesn't equal good.
