hey Smokey, what would you like to see happen? Do you want to see Kyle play out his extension? Are you ok with another 6 years of Kyle just keeping us competitive?

we're not making the playoffs this year. Are we allowed to talk about getting rid of the football genius after he misses the playoffs twice?

I would like to see Kyle stick around and see if we can rebound from this season. He's already proven he's a capable asset in terms of keeping a team competitive for Super Bowls and rebuilding a roster quickly. If over the next couple of seasons signs indicate otherwise, or he loses the locker room in the meantime, than I would be willing to look elsewhere.

Lol he's not going to rebound. There's no signs of life.

Everybody wants to pretend we don't have these aging veterans with no willingness to play rookies behind them.

The trey Lance lost picks suck. All the previous drafts behind last year's have been terrible too.

Saddle up for us sucking. Shanahans only making it worse at this point.

The team will be worse next year talent wise than this year. Look what's happened this year with just a minor drop in talent.

He's had 8 years. He's the longest tenured non super bowl winning head coach.

Pick your time. We can start rebuilding now and trade Kyle for picks or you can wait 3 years from now until he's worth nothing and blown his reputation entirely with multiple 5-7 win seasons in a row... Then you get nothing.

A la see Jimmy and trey Lance trades. Cut your losses while he's worth something.

Losing because your out gunned is far different than blowing 3 4th quarter leads to teams you should beat.

and i don't think you can excuse injuries, they are a part of NFL football. over time it all evens out. every fan base thinks it is uniquely cursed but that's just not reality.

Other teams are as injured as we are this year? I think you may have missed the mark on this one. Just because you want it to be true so you can make your case against Kyle, doesn't make it true

Not really, other than I'm sure he's frustrated.

I do think Kyle has struggled this year and so has Brock and the rest of the team. I tend to think Kyle has made this team look better than it would under an average coach for years.

Kyle took lance. that's what happened. he wanted some game changer who can dual threat and stretch the D vertical and outside the numbers. you could write a book on how bad a move it was. kings ransom for QB3 in the draft, a guy with a million red flags. he's effectively a less skilled or good version of Tebow.

Yes the Lance Trey trade for 3 first round picks will haunt this franchise for EVER!

The toxicity from Aiyuk didn't help. Had two players kid die. Had a player shot. It's sad.

Deebo is f**king washed man. The defense was never great this year but 2x 12-man penalties in a row should be a fireable offense by itself.

I think the personnel decisions has mostly put this team in this situation. Had they been more savvy, they would have started a mini rebuild during the offseason. Now it's going to be much more extensive just to get rid of some of the vet contracts.

That's what happens when you are paying star players big money. You don't have money to keep good ST players. Azeez Al-Shair is a good example of that.

I'll wait out the three years and see what happens rather than trust Jed and Paraag to find another HC and GM that is both great and can successfully work with them. You're resigned to them getting worse. It may happen, but I think past evidence suggests otherwise. Either way, it'd be absurd to fire or trade him because of one bad season.

we have no monopoly on bad luck or injury. and i think it's kinda lazy to put all the blame into well it's not our fault, it's bad luck. you don't get any better with that approach. you don't correct any mistakes, if you are a great team, just getting unlucky.

I think this is the most shortsighted post of the day.

im more optimistic for 2025 than I ever was 2024

i think we'll get purdy at a relative discount
i think we learned our lesson on b******t negotiations
i think we'll draft o-line… our skill positions are set
i think we'll cut some old contracts. Bye juice. Bye deebo.
i think we'll have a good d coordinator
i think our special teams will be top-10
i think our defense will be top-5

even if you trust Jed and Prag.. the odds of getting a great HC is pretty bad

Very true, we tail off badly roster wise and the players towards the end of group and the effort and energy is not there on special teams as if they almost always seem to be looking for a problem to happen.

They don't look like they are a team working together on Special Teams at all.

This season is over. But is anyone else severely worried about the long term future? CMC and Deebo look washed or repetitive injuries. Aiyuk had serious damage to his knee. Juan is likely gone after this year. Brock will be getting paid 60+ mill a year soon. We have no promising pieces on the Dline besides Bosa.

And our offensive play calling has taken a major step back.

Our bad drafting and the Trey Lance deal have come back to haunt us.

Agreed and I certainly don't, lol. Would just restate its not just a coach, it's also a GM.

Look at what the coaches have done in Denver, Detroit Minnesota, Green Bay, Cleveland. Players on those team play hard, are fun to watch and are heading in the opposite direction of the 49ers. Yet we have Kyle boys still talking about how great he is and how much of a disaster it will be to move on. limited thinking and fear drives these guys to sub mediocrity.
oh another lame take lol

lets ignore that any team you want to bring up is not equal in health nor can it ever be equal as the amount of injuries has just been crazy for us.

in no way you can say the players are not playing hard.. just based on results

Get your eyes checked and pick up a book on football fundamentals then come back and post.

Lol says the guy who thinks owners and coaches are the reason SBs are won and not players.
Thanks for further making my point for me. If you don't think owners and coaches factor into the overall success of a team you need more education than I thought.

Learn to read?

Of course owners and coaches factor in, I said players are the MAIN factors.

Nobody is giving more credit to Phil Jackson for Kobe, Shaq, MJ.

Nobody is giving more credit to Gretzkys coaches

As we've seen with Brady and BB, what has BB done since Brady?

What did Reid do before Pat?

Dodgers didn't just win a WS because of Roberts and their owner

It was worse before jed. His parents ran the franchise into the ground. Paraag is on my sh*t list too. He's half the problem letting these dudes hold out and being cheap instead of buying early.

Either way jed got harbaugh, and shanahan, additionally I didn't think Kelly was that bad. He at least put up points. He just had almost no talent to work with and lost the locker room due to the racism thing. He was at least adjusting at the end with the clock management.

Either way your looking at a decent what 3/5 3/6 coaching fill rate. It's not some dire like we could never find a good one scenario.

I don't differentiate between Jed and John as much. I agree that it's been better under Jed's leadership than John's but Jed is still a complete anchor IMO. I will give him credit in that I fully believe he wants to win and will spend money. I also believe he is unwilling to compromise his or Paraag's role in football operations and that we have structural flaws that we have to overcome as a result.

I also do not agree with your assessment of their hires and conclusions about what it would be like going forward. They've hired two good coaches in five* attempts. One of those regimes they sabotaged and the other is ongoing. They also made one of the most inexplicable hires in NFL history and have yet to bring in a true outside GM to run football ops since Jed's taken over.
