he lucked into purdy because a scout found him? Shanahan hired the scout.

he lucked into bosa? Q Williams is playing pretty great… we'd be in an "as good" situation with him.

got to give credit where credit is due. We were bottom dwellers before Kyle

see this is what i push back on. of course they lucked into brock to some degree. they don't leave him on the board that long if they knew he was QB1. it's too easy to do the everything good is him, and everything bad is twists of fate. that's false. he drafted lance at insane cost. he seemingly said no thanks to tom brady. he mismanaged the DC for 2 straight years now. we will have productive convo once we get real and address the good and the bad. no one sided he's perfect and everything wrong is from the gods. that's rose colored glasses.
they don't leave him on the board that long if they knew he was QB1.. We we had our starter in Lance already lol

he seemingly said no thanks to tom brady. yeah cause he sucked ass the previous two years and we had a SB run with a QB who could have gotten better. Plus how are you going to pay Brady ?

he mismanaged the DC for 2 straight years now. His DC found a HC job, Wilks didn't work out and our teams is no where it is due to injuries

no rose colored glasses. just reality

You're talking generally and I'm talking specifically about what they did. Had they traded up and drafted Trevor Lawrence it would have been a lot less reckless. What they did was spend 3 1sts and drafted a player from a lower level of college football who missed the last season and played only one full season total. They knew he was a raw prospect who needed to learn the position and they should have been aware that would hurt a SB team's chances of winning for at least one and likely multiple years.

A prospect like Lawrence could have stepped in and executed the Jimmy G role in this offense. It would have at least been a reasonable expectation and gamble.

You can't tell your team full of all stars and SB ready players that we are playing a worse QB than what we have available because it will pay off years down the road hopefully.

I blame Josh Allen for that. Although, once again, like you mentioned Allen was light years ahead as a passer than Lance. And even he still needed some time to develop coming out of a smaller school.

Valid points. I tend to disagree, but I don't know that you're wrong

Josh Allen is 100% to blame for the Trey lance fiasco in

no, But to saying why didn't we draft Purdy higher before we really saw Lance or some how pay brady 30 mill after his worse season and still have 30 mil Jimmy dead cap money on the books after coming off a great 49er season is

The good times are over. No player needs to be trying to "secure the bag" this offseason. In fact, we need to start renogiating contracts or letting guys walk.

Kyle is to blame. He chose not to trade up for Allen in 2019, who was drafted two spots head of McGlinchey.

McGlinchey and Allen were drafted in 2018. The 49ers had just given out a high end contract to Jimmy G.

BUT ALLEN WAS OBVIOUSLY BETTER ANY OTHER HC WOULD'VE CUT THEIR NEW BIG CONTRACT QB AND WOULD'VE GONE WITH A ROOKIE

And so he trades three first round draft picks for Trey Lance the next year?
