No player worth his paycheck, even if it is just the vet minimum, will sit still for intentional tanking.

Every player on the roster knows that his future earning power is directly tied to what he puts on film from one year to the next. As long as they are capable of playing, they will strive to secure their next contract. Consequently, if there is even a hint of the HC tanking for a better draft pick, who would replace one of the current players on the team, the HC will lose the team in one short week. Such an action is a franchise-destroyer.

Really it shouldn't be too hard. Warner you got a fractured ankle or whatever, you're do e fir the year. Dre' see you at the negotiation table. Nick heel up and be ready for 2025. And if Brock's shoulder is still an issue. He'd be done for the year too. The rest of the guys can play their asses off. Win/win scenario.

In fact.. While we know Kyle and John are friends, I'm honestly starting to wonder if there's some friction there.

John called out the discipline of the team. Is he taking shots at the players or at Kyle?

Kyle said "we're not as good of a team, we're not the same team at all." is HE taking a shot at the players or at Lynch?

Shoot.. I may have just given Grant his next article..

Well, well, well -- a day later this pops up 😂

Correct, it happens all the time.

I'll start caring about this team again when the players and coaches care again.

Why give him more crap..

The players do need to step up and it has nothing to do with Kyle or John

The Team isn't playing that good, because Rookies and 2nd/3rd stringers are replacing Pro Bowlers and All Pros.. has nothing to do with John or Kyle
Are you serious? You don't think Kyle or John are responsible for building depth on the roster? They are not to blame for the injuries but the drop off in talent is massive. That's directly attributed to bad drafting, lack of picks, and concentration of salary cap on a select few players. It all impacts our depth.

The problem is no one really listens to our fans. Jed used to be active on twitter and i don't know if he cares like he did when he listen to Baalke and mutually parted with Harbaugh. Our fans don't boo or wear bags on their heads in protest.

Glad to hear some of these rumblings out there, even though it's speculation at this point. It means that the thought of Kyle not being on this team is plausible, something that would not have been fathomable a couple years ago. Now we just need this idea to grow. And if Kyle decides to keep Sorenson as DC, and continue with more of the same going into 2025, I think Jed pulls the rug.

The oor drafts are a combination of picking late in the rounds and players that didn't pan out. Sooner or laterpicking nerar the end of the round year after year catches up to you. Along with the success of making the playoffs comes players that leave for more money somewhere else. The NFL draft has been designed to reward bad teams with better picks in order to get parity. It worked as we see in so many close games each week. The difference between the best and the worst team isn't nearly as great as it is in college where the best teams always get the best players (recruits)

You mean more speculation the same as you do!!!

From your article:

"If they wanted to move on from John Lynch or Kyle Shanahan, which I've gotten zero indication that they want to do, how quickly do you think it would be before there would be another team that would want to hire both of them?" Schefter said this week on the Pat McAfee Show.

it doesn't work. i remember when we had the reggie bush bowl. we won the game, meaning we 'lost' the bowl. reggie wasn't even pick 1. reggie didn't have the greatest career. it was all a sham. we actually ended up with reggie later on. we drafted vernon davis, who was a flat better pro than reggie was. you want your team to win all their games. losing teams tend to stay losing, like browns or jags. it takes huge effort like dan campbell to turn around a losing team, once you start losing for a long time. never embrace losing.
